CALICO CAT COOKIES (they're sugar cookies)

Hello! Today we have calico cat sugar cookies. I've always found the cats to be very pretty and I happened to have cat cookie cutters. This is a very simple way to make sugar cookies more unique and fun. It's also a perfect bake for cat lovers!
In case you don't know, Calico cats are a tri coloured cat. They're typically white with orange and black spots.
Fun fact: calico cats are largely female. It's rare to find a male one.
** sorry but I forgot to include FOOD COLOURING in recipe card.
Instructions:
1. cream together the butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy
2. add egg and vanilla. mix until it's just combined
3. add all the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder) and mix until it's combined and a dough forms
4. divide up the dough into 3 portions - 1 large and 2 small. The large portion will be white portion of the cat. The two small portions will be dyed with food colouring to create the spots on the cat. Dye one ball of dough orange and dye the other brown or black
5. Cover and refrigerate the doughs for 1 hour
6. Roll out the large ball of dough. Once rolled, rip pieces from the coloured dough and place it on top. Once it is to your liking, cover with a piece of parchment and roll it flat then begin cutting shapes with your cookie cutter.
note: don't use all your coloured dough here. we will need it again in the next step
7. Once you've cut out all you can from the dough, ball up the remainder and roll it back out. Take the coloured dough and once again rip pieces and place it on the dough. Cover it with parchment paper then roll it back out and continue to cut out your cats. Repeat until there's no more dough.
8. Once all the cats are cut, refrigerate the dough for 30 mins
9. Bake at 375 F (190C) for 10-12 mins
10. Cool the cookies on a wire rack
11. ENJOY!
