Many names in the field went on to become superstars in college and nfl. What an incredible venue. I remember watching this game on tv, it was the last one i ever saw. Too bad they didn't keep them going. I remember being really high on hershel dennis and thrilled that he was coming to USC. He had an amazing career at LB Poly. He was easily one of the best recruits in that class. Unfortunately his career got off to a rough start at USC, i believe he got hurt in spring training and because of it saw limited time his freshman year. By his sophomore year, the trojans already had new freshmen reggie bush and LenDale white, the rest is history.

Dennis tore his acl twice at usc. Without those two knee injuries, he would've played in the NFL regardless of Bush and white being at usc.

I was a senior. I went to Poly with Mercedes Lewis and Hershell Dennis, Manuel Wright, and Darnell Bing. Them dudes was different. #CaliBall #FunkHouse

What’s interesting to see how many of these guys never produced on the next levels. Just a lesson to young guys, never over project ability. There may be 1000 players better than you.

Granted... but almost all of them went to D1 colleges to play ball, and there are atleast a dozen guys in this game that went on to have nfl careers which is unusual to see in a single hs game. I recognized a lot of names.
