California Coast - Garlic Capitol of the World - Garlic World in Gilroy / Visit Missions Señora Nuestra de La Soledad & San Miguel Arcangel / Vista Point stop in Santa Barbara
SEATTLE TRIP 2024 SERIES - Day 10 / Episode 10
We start the day with our morning breakfast at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in San Jose. Turned out to be a rather nice hotel. Our first stop is in the City of Gilroy at the Garlic Capital of the World, specifically Garlic World. A market that is full of garlic flavored everything, spreads, olives, ice cream, nuts, butter, etc. along with a bunch of other items like produce and candies. We of course have to pick a bunch of snacks.
We continue down Highway 101 southbound to our next stop, Mission Señora Nuestra de La Soledad. We visit the museum, chapel, and grounds of the mission. Always nice to catch up on some California history. We also stop in the City of San Miguel to visit the Mission San Miguel Arcangel. We aren't able to visit the museum and chapel, but are able to visit some of the grounds in the rain.
On our final stretch we get some lunch at Carl's Jr., enjoy some coastal scenes along the ocean, and stop at a Vista Point in the Santa Barbara area along Highway 101. We finish with a stop in Simi Valley to drop off Grandma and head home.
This was a great ending to our 10 day trip to Seattle and back. The drive up to Seattle was definitely adventurous and fun with snow and new places to visit. Our days in Seattle included some new food places and fun with the boys. Our final days driving back to Los Angeles down Highway 101 included a bunch of scenic adventures and coastal scenes. This was a lot of fun and so beautiful. Love the Pacific Coast. If you haven't watched the other 9 episodes, be sure to catch up.
