*0:49** LYRICS - California Cottonfields* ------------ My driftin' mem'ry goes back to the spring of '43 When I was just a child in mama's arms My daddy plowed the field and prayed someday that we could leave This run-down mortgaged Oklahoma farm Then one night I heard my daddy sayin' to my mama That he had finally saved enough to go California was his dream, a paradise, for we have seen Pictures in magazines that told him so California cottonfields Where labor camps were filled with weary men with broken dreams California cottonfields As close to wealth as daddy had ever came Almost everything we had was sold or left behind From my daddy's plow to the food that mama canned Some folks came to say farewell or see what all we had to sell Some just came to shake my daddy's hand Model A was loaded down and California bound A change of luck was just four days away But the only change that I remember seeing in my daddy Was when his dark hair turned to silver gray California cottonfields Where labor camps were filled with weary men with broken dreams California cottonfields As close to wealth as daddy had ever came California cottonfields Where labor camps were filled with weary men with broken dreams California cottonfields As close to wealth as daddy had ever came Album: Shenandoah

I love Matt's sense of humor! Growing up with 4 sisters, I can relate (I always said I had one sister for each arm and leg, so I never had a chance! Besides, they could talk twice as fast I could . . . !) Great music, and each one of you has a great voice - bringing something "great" into the mix. I really enjoy Emmett Franz, both his musical talents and his great voice. Keep up the great work!!

I've been pickin and followin bluegrass bands since "71" and I think this band will be much better known as they mature along their musical journey. Like the old timers use to say, get the vocals down, and the instrumentals will follow suit. Well done, wish y'all the best.

Hi Liz, a present also for Matt.... [Matt] Bene, grazie ragazzi, noi siamo i Petersens.

@@FrankvdMuijsenberg Hi Frank. I don't know what happens, I'm trying to send you an answer on the "Dreams" video but YT always deletes it. So I try to rewrite it here. "I tried to listen carefully again, but I don't hear notes so high that they could be played by a banjo or a Dobro. By the way Ellen is perfectly framed and it shows that she is not playing during the last choir. On the contrary, between 4.19 and 4.22, Karen's right arm is seen moving with the bow (on the far right edge of the screen). I also looked at the video fragment Julianne posted on Instagram (their concert at JQH-Springfield) and, even there, you can see that everyone in the last choir stops playing, including Emmett. The only one you can't see well there is Mom. "

@@Roberto-pd8vn Yeah, Liz told me yesterday that YT was acting weird. I have this too sometimes, it won't let you post comments under certain videos. But I think you're right. I listened to it now with my good headphones. I can hear the 'lowness' (is that a word?) now.
