California Halibut Fishing | New Huck Finn | Emeryville, CA | May 2023

Flew down to California for a friends and Family charter trip aboard The New Huck Finn. We focused on California halibut. The halibut did not disappoint and were on the chew.

Yeah it waa but ended up getting really windy and wavy halfway through. 1/2 the boat stopped fishing and the bite went off. The lost footage. 😆

Wide open striper bite. 66 fish (keepers) in two hours. Also, that is a sweet rod and reel setup!

Over here in NJ the party boats get the baby cousin to the halibut, the fluke. I find it kind of dull. That trip, and those fish, look to be much more fun. That shark looked cool!

Yeah, it was a blast. I was bummed I lost my striper footage of this trip. It was a wild bite. I am just happy to hopefully get back into the swing here. Time to get after some salmon. Tight lines brother !

We chartered the whole boat. Think it worked out to about 220 ea. Yeah I brought home 3 halibut and 2 striped bass.
