Those transmitters came out of radio station WKRK AM. I kept that old Gates cooking up until they took it out of service in about 1998 or so. That Western Electric transmitter was originally built to operate on the lower end of the dial, and was modified to work on 1320 kilohertz. It was a 1 kw transmitter, and it was an AIR cooled transmitter. I still have a couple of the final tubes I took out of it.
