California Highway 49 North: Auburn to Grass Valley/Nevada City

This was my commute to work every day for 15.5 years (Bell Rd., No. Auburn to S. Pine St., Nevada City). I actually grew up in Nevada City, CA, and a decade later (after I married) returned to Northern California and lived in North Auburn, up by the Placer County Government Center for nearly 20 years before moving out of state in July 2019. In Nevada City, I lived right off hwy. 49 (Newtown Rd. area), worked in county government, County of Nevada and spent much of my life in this area. This video reminded me of so much of my life in the Sierra Nevada Foothills! Well done!

It's easy. Rainy, no snow. NC generally represents North Carolina. Here we call it NorCal, and SoCal.

I’ve seen Nevada City abbreviated as NC and Grass Valley as GV in other comment sections so thought that was typical, but will make a mental note of NorCal. I’m glad to hear the drive isn’t bad-I’m from the south and we rarely get snow or any type of frozen precipitation. Thanks again. 😊
