@@TruckTaxiMoveIt Unfortunately, in this case the state of California pays unemployment through EDD. I agree, I dumped BofA and Wells Fargo years ago for a credit union. Banks have been regulated and deregulated on and off. Elizabeth Warren has been preaching this for decades. But credit unions are owned by the members and usually have a better track record. I could have said Savings and Loans but after their failure in the 80s and their bail out by Bush in the 90s - they aren't much better than banks. All has to do with regulating of the industry. People like to swipe. I wouldn't leave any money in a Bank of America bank they are above average worse than all the rest.

Why would you leave the money in your EDD Bank of America bank account???? Duhhhh your supposed to be paying your bills with it. Not leave it there to collect a high balance. That just shows YOU DON'T NEED IT!!!!

This is exactly what happened to me and I've been trying to fix this for the past 2 months with no response from Bank of America. I've been on hold with them for approximately 8 hours, spoken to at least 8 different people that keep telling me they are escalating my issue only to then hear nothing back. And then this report comes out today. Crazy. It all makes sense.

Bank of America was once Bank of Jamaica if I'm not mistaken. Also, any money in a bank account belongs to the bank, they are just saying you are good for that amount. In the era of Direct Deposit, you work and "earn" money, the company says you're good for X amount when it deposits your check, bank says your good for deposited amount. It's all ghost money.

EDD and BofA have a working relationship. Any unemployment benefits is tied to an account with BofA debit card, whether you have a personal account with the bank or not. Lesson here is, withdraw money from your unemployment benefits account daily.

I started an account with BOFA after returning from deployment overseas, I cashed in alot of Bonds, put that in a savings account and the bank started picking away at it, fees they said, so I withdrew the remaining and closed the account. Oceanside CA, BofA..stay away from that bank. This was over 20 years ago and to this day I hear they are still skimming accounts.

Forefather Thomas Jefferson warned us a long time ago, "If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered." - This quotation is often cited as being in an 1802 letter to Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin, and/or "later published in The Debate Over the Recharter of the Bank Bill (1809)." Also, if interested, here is a animated entertaining video about what happened to the collapse of the american dream kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3qsaoGQbbKAjK8

My experience with BofA is that they are crooks. They overcharged me, when one of their tellers caught it they told me to ask for a refund. BofA gave a six month refund, kept the rest. I changed banks, and moved my home loan, cancelled my credit card. I had never been late with a payment. I wrote to them to ask if they thought cheating me out of a few hundred dollars was worth losing a good customer. No answer. You, and everyone, can do better without BofA.
