Thanks for the video! That bungy with the safety release, where did you get that from?

It was originally from Spear America but I don't see it anymore. If I see them come back up I will let you know

Do you know the code for Palos Verdes?

The location code should be "56"

Thank you for the great post! A California sport fishing license with salt water endorsement and lobster card is a total of about $71.00.
@divespeareat2 жыл бұрын
Great call out! Probably tack on a bit more actually since you have to buy another fishing license starting the new year.

@@divespeareat Very good point, but starting the first of the year (correct me if I am wrong) Sport Fishing Lic's are supposed to be for a year from date of purchase. On another note, I can only imagine where all of the $ from Hunting and Fishing Lic's go, do the math, it is a huge chunk of $, and I dont see it going back into Hunting and/or Fishing.

@@rvierra7235 Unfortunately the fishing license is only valid for the calendar year. So everyone has to buy a new one in calendar year 2023. Info is in the FAQ section: wildlife.ca.gov/Licensing/Fishing#445181407-sport-fishing-license-questions

@@divespeareat Actually starting November of this year, the CA license will be 365 days date to date, not Jan-Dec🤙🏽

ooo this is news to me! Thank you for the update. I still find it so strange that we still do the 365 days vs. a year from when you bought it. Anyway, thanks again!

I’d like to add dive knife should always be on the list too because of them fishing line. You may almost put a button lamp inside the float so buddy can see you. they are 9.99 for 6 of them water 9 feet resistant. Very small head lamp is also handy in case you see the KING using both hands.

Forsure! Great calls there. Good idea with putting a light on or inside of a translucent float. I found using a head-mounted light is not that great. The light seems to refract off the particles near your face making the light more of a distraction. Appreciate the input. Dive Safe!

@@divespeareat exactly, that’s why I keep them under 100 lumens. Good thing about that is the size is so small to mount on side you can wear GoPro forehead.

I know focus is very important not to bring a speargun. A float line tied to something heavy like another flash can mark the infested cave is found. Damn i shouldn’t say too much or them lobster will be gone soon ;)

hahah thanks for sharing! I actually do something similar. I have a small light that I will anchor infront of caves so I don't lose my place.

Hello! I'm a beginner spearfisherman and I have been having trouble with the pressure build up in my teeth (oddly enough) any tips as to deal with this? I am able to clear my ears but I get a sharp pain in my molars after a while.

Hi there! I have heard about these cases of Barodontalgia (aka tooth squeeze) from fellow divers. I am no medical professional but this may help: www.emedicinehealth.com/wilderness_tooth_squeeze/symptom.htm
@rvierra72352 жыл бұрын
Your issue is not odd, not an everyday thing, but does happen. I am sorry, i dont know what is done to correct this, call a dentist that dives. I think NAUI and PFI may have contact for medical professionals who tend to divers. I have never heard of this ending someone's diving career though, so hang in there 👍

@@rvierra7235 Thank you guys for the info! @R Vierra, do you know if it is something that will happen everytime I dive now, or if it Is just random? Because this is only something that happened once on my last dive and I'm wondering if I should make an appointment with a dentist or just stop diving for that session whenever it happens.

@@divespeareat Thank you!

@@lognag Sorry, I dont know the answer to that. BUT...there is a lot riding on a dive session, most importantly, your health and safety. And, what if you hop a day or overnight boat, you spend all of that $ for a dive trip and you are sidelined due to the tooth pain. Were I in your fins, I would seek dental help/advice from a dentist/oral surgeon asap.
