those shots of the aircraft graveyard were fascinating. Looks like the entire Lion Air fleet from Indonesia was there. Many others as well.

This video was nicely done. I only have one slight correction. The person who spoke is the Mayor of Colton. He is the current Chairman of the S.B.I.A. Authority Board. The S.B.I.A. Authority is a joint-powers authority that includes the City of Colton.

Incredible video and I’m so happy SBD has commercial service. The terminal actually looks modern and spacious and comfortable. Side note: that the president of Breeze not the CEO. Tom (the president) is the one in these clips while David Neelemen (the ceo) is absent.

Thank you for sharing this. I’ll be flying out of SBD at the end of the month and am super excited. Flying SBD-SFO then turning around immediately for SFO-ONT. Can’t wait to try a new airline and airport. What seat did you select if you remember? Thx! -J

Hopefully you enjoyed the flight! Curious if airlines will stick around at SBD. I was on a left side window, i believe seat 20A

I picture myself using this flight to connect to a number of other flights going to Pacific Northwest and Alaska. I live in Ontario, Calif, but United's flights to SFO from ONT are on miserably cramped CRJ- 200's. Frontier has flights, but are unreliable in general: I have lost ~ $410 due to two seperate flights that Frontier grossly delayed or canceled. Aha Airlines' flight to RNO require overnight for connecting flights. I would rather spend 4 hours changing planes at SFO than use LAX. I hope Breeze or another carrier will start service to a hub going east like PHX, LAS, DEN, SLC, DFW, DAL, IAH, HOU, SAT, AUS, etc.
@clark75682 жыл бұрын
why not use alaska straight from ONT to the pacific northwest? they have at least two flights a day to PDX and 4 or 5 to SEA. Delta also flys ONT-SEA 3 times a day
@cornbread12092 жыл бұрын
@@clark7568 Yes, from ONT to PDX and SEA, but through SFO for some others like BOI, EUG, etc. Caveat; I haven't researched connection timings with these, yet.
@clark75682 жыл бұрын
@@cornbread1209 another option would be southwest thru OAK, SJC, SMF, or LAS. Although I will admit the timing of the Breeze flight is good and should allow for ample connections thru SFO.

@@clark7568 Yes, these WN flights are options, but I am not a fan of their open seating, middle seats, and are often overpriced.

San Francisco International is an ideal first destination for San Bernardino International because of the number of connections SFO offers to several Asian and European destinations, as well as to Canada and to parts of the U.S. LAX is maddening, so SFO is a compelling alternative.

I would love for Breeze to service ACV California Redwood Coast Humboldt County Airport. Avelo has been operating here since they started operations. Avelo is enjoying success here so far flying their 737-800s. United has been operating here for a long time. AHA! Was here for the brief time they were operating prior to going bankrupt. United is very expensive. Avelo has offered much better prices which has really helped increase ridership

It looks like Breeze is downsizing a bit at the moment to figure out what their niche really is. If they recover from that, I do see them trying to grow their west coast market a bit

i’ve seen united price matching this route but out of ONT. SFO isn’t even that big of a route from ONT, i think it’s the 9th or 10th busiest. I think the choice of SFO for SBD is odd, especially since you can really only connect with Breeze to PVU from SFO. seems like LAS would have been a better route considering how much it’s grown during the pandemic from ONT. I also think it’s odd to have two commercial airports so close to each other. SBD is much harder to get to compared to ONT for a majority of the IE. I wish Breeze the best but I don’t see this particular route lasting at least as a daily flight.
@PatrickSheaAviation2 жыл бұрын
I think of this as mostly just a win for SBD. Whether this route lasts or another one to come, I’m just excited to see if SBD can keep airlines around
@clark75682 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickSheaAviation I would love to see SBD gain more airlines but considering the majority of US carriers already fly to Ontario it just doesn’t make sense for them to have two stations about 10 miles apart. Cargo operations out of SBD are great bc the inland empire is the one of the biggest logistical centers in the country. I think if the inland empire wanted another commercial airport besides ONT and PSP then I think RIV should be looked at. I just don’t see any airlines that are established at ONT expanding to SBD.

@@clark7568, the two airports are 25 miles apart.
@lyndakorner23832 жыл бұрын
@@clark7568, San Bernardino International Airport is much easier to reach than ONT. SBD is just two miles west of San Bernardino's new central station where multiple lines of Metrolink regional-rail service converge with Arrow, a new fuel-cell-powered light-rail line to and from the University of Redands, and sbX, a $191.7 million B.R.T. system with lines connecting San Bernardino State and Loma Linda Universities, in addition to several freeway-running express buses. This site is also the optional station location for California High-Speed Rail in San Bernardino that would connect the city with Los Angeles in 30 minutes and with San Diego in 50. Additionally, Brightline West, the privately-funded high-speed rail line to and from Las Vegas would be logically routed to San Bernardino, as would the new Coachella Valley line that is being planned to connect the Inland Empire with the Palm Springs area. The two-mile track extension would allow people to take a one-seat Metrolink trip between San Bernardino International Airport's front door and L.A. Union Station. And, the railway is about to reintroduce 60-minute express service to and from downtown Los Angeles. SBD also would be connected with the Inland Empire/Orange County Line that links San Bernardino with Riverside County, Orange County, and San Diego County. And, with a slight reconfiguring of Metrolink's service patterns, San Bernardino International could become the only airport to offer a direct, one-seat rail connection to Disneyland/Anaheim Station (ARTIC), which is about 45 miles away. No other airport in southern California is going to be as convenient and connected. Until the two-mile Metrolink extension is completed, OmniTrans is starting to run express shuttles that connect the central station with the airport.

@@clark7568, the San Bernardino Valley is home to Esri, the influential G.I.S. firm that needed a better connection to the rest of the tech industry in the Bay Area and to Provo, which has been nicknamed "Silicon Slopes." Esri's world headquarters are located in Redlands, which neighbors San Bernardino, and the campus of the mapping-software giant has its own station along the new light-rail line that leads to San Bernardino's central station.
