From personal experience, it's understood that wildfires is almost unstoppable if it has already spread out big and wild because extreme heat from the fire itself dries out water poured on it as well as bring along strong wind to keep it going big and strong. Only continuous rain from nature itself can stop it. Instead of using water, it might be helpful if snow/ice is poured onto it as this might bring down the heat as well as doesn't dry of too fast. It's important that all out efforts and resources need to be used to stop wildfires when it's still small the very first moment it's reported. Praying for California.
