The mom is doing a cool thing, for sure. But to me, the hero in this story is the daughter, Nisse. She worked hard to overcome the nurturing she didn't get in childhood - not an easy journey - gained strength, expressed an understanding and acceptance of her mom, and went on to regularly help her with this mission.

The daughter had me crying. I have been blessed with a son who has finally started seeing his embarrassing mom as "interesting" now that he is 36.

The wrong people have money, we need billionaires who are generous not the greedy sociopaths we have today. Imagine having enough money to heal many of the worlds ills and thinking, nah, I need another yacht.

U said exactly how I feel. The wrong people have more money than they will ever need, but they continue to Greedy. It's a sick society. If I had blessings & wealth I would naturally feel compelled to give back, but I struggle day to day..😢😭

The billionaires became billionaires because at some point they stepped, crushed, and annihilated competition. Millionaires might be more apt to give and therefore never made billionaire status due to their giving.

Wow! She gave to others what she couldn't give to her own daughter. You can hear the pain in the daughter's voice and see the sadness in her eyes when she says "I was never very close to my mom".

Yeah, when she said her mother was hard for her to get close to, that was interesting. I can't imagine keeping myself walled off from my own child. That plus being a "hippie" that helped create war machinery lol. But idk, I guess handing out store bought cookies to people with jobs who aren't in need really makes her an amazing person 🙄

I have the feeling that Gayle has form of autism and doesn't see that she doesn't display affection towards her daughter in the way her Nisse needs and deserves. I truly think that she loves her though. And I hope that Gayle knows that her best accomplishment is her beautiful daughter.

Yeah, I don’t think judging Gayle or Nisse for their relationship and past is appropriate. The best part is that they’ve been able to heal and celebrate each other before it’s too late. That is truly a gift.

Of all the reporting David has done, this one resonated by far! This is what we need, "genuine" kindness. Not the naming and bragging because you or your company or [ ? ] gave boxes of cookies to the less fortunate. In Gayle's heart, EVERYONE is deserving. Love that!

If a teenager wore the exact same outfit, she would be considered adorable. What young people don't know is that old people don't feel like what their bodies look like. They feel exactly the same as when they were young. It's only others who see us as old. Our genuine selves do not feel old at all. We fee timelessly young.

Love. Love the truth brought out- to not judge; you don't know who you're dealing with. "Man looks at the outside appearance, but God sees the heart." & Some of the words spoken remind me of a phrase I learned in support groups, regarding family dysfunction: "Our parents did the best they could, with what THEY had to give." It's the same Word I received in daily Bible Words when praying about my mom: we all have good/ bad... & about a person injured inside; "Be a healer in your family." What if we wanted to be healers, instead of judging?

A guest at my grocery store doesn't give gifts, he just is kind to everyone, is forgiving and apologetic. He's like no one I've ever met. In certain jobs, accepting food is not allowed and refusing is difficult. So you accept it and then you have to discard it. Buying all that stuff is taking away from her daughter and her inheritance. A simple "thank you for being at work today"--especially those thankless jobs-- goes a long way.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gayle doesn’t have a bit of autism. She’s incredibly smart, giving, but probably had a little trouble getting too close with her daughter and the emotions needed for that.
