I'm an eighth-generation Texan and I have never spit like that, and I don't know anyone who does. Must be your specific part of Texas (it's a big place, y'all). This was super funny. Kinda ... scary ... how that nailed many of the Texans I know and love. (Not so much me, but I definitely lean more Texan than Californian according to this video.)

I think my great-grandpa (West Texas small-time rancher) had a spitoon that got handed down through the family (though not our branch). But I've always lived in larger towns and cities so that's likely why I don't see the spitting going on.

Sometimes I just want to drive through Texas, stop in a super small town with a tight knit community and just see what it’s like. Especially what the teenagers are like. I’ve never been in a small suburban town it’s so fascinating to me lol

I stopped in a small town Texas diner with my daughter a few years ago! A group of teen sat in a booth talking a laughing together, wearing jeans and t-shirts, they all looked super relatable, kind and carefree. Almost everyone who walked through the door was greeted by, or greeted someone else who was already seated. It was so cozy feeling, like from a movie! It really was like the TV series "Friday night lights" I was surprised!
