I think the 2010s will be remembered for the rise of identity politics and the re-rise of fascism with events like Brexit and world leaders like Donald trump, putin, erdogan, xi, Duterte, modi, Orban and probably numerous others and how these two ideologies have essentially fought each other over the second half of the decade, which has reverted us back to tribalism.

So glad I found this channel. None of my friends share my I interest in history and the ones that do srent well versed. Ita great to hear names like Mary Beard being mentioned as there is no doubt she influenced all of us who have a passion for roman history . I have to agree with the female host, what happened on capri is terribly interesting. Especially after what we hear about Tiberius. I strongly believe caligula was a good leader but was assassinated and ultimately the stories we hear today were all stories used to assassinate his character and justify his murder. Germanicus deserves his own episode. He was truly the one true son of rome. Was bred to be emperor. Related to 3 emperors . Known to be their greatest military leader. A while episode on him with 3/4s on Germanicus life and 1/4 on his murder/ death. Entertaining theories etc. Man I'd love to sit down and just talk Rome with you guys.

Thank for you all of that. It’s both immensely gratifying and definitely humbling. You may already be aware, however we do have an episode that focuses on Germanicus. Granted a lot of it revolves around his death and possible murder as Romans at the time understood it. Though what we covered outside of Germanicus’ death we hope gives him at least some of his well earned due, for the one his fellow Romans considered their Alexander the Great. If you have ever a more extended thought or question, just drop us an email at adhistorypodcast@tgnreview.com. We check it often, respond to all comers, are always interested about what’s on your mind, and making new friends. Thank you for listening and subscribing!

The Tiberius quote ay 17:30 is laughable at best. A quick glimpse of the topics covered in other videos gained you a new subscriber. Cant wait to take the deep dive into your content.

I believe the 2010s will be remembered as a time of crisis and extremism but also a time of waking up (thinking about Fridays for Future here). My perspective is those of a teenager born and raised and still living in Germany.

The 2010’s will be known for cringey youtuber Apologies and people born in the 90’s being overly nostalgic for the 90’s.

Meanwhile they will known as "the bloody revolutionary decade" in the arab world

Ppl born in the 90s wouldn't have a good memory of the 90s. Its ppl born in the 80s that were old enough to enjoy the 90s. Which were without a doubt the last great decade.

I highly doubt "youtuber apologies " will be what we remember looking back on this past decade. It will likely be remember aas the decade where we talked ALOT(climate change , etc) but did very little. Here in the states we coukdbt have a bigger contrast in the presidents seen in the 10s. Between Obama who was grounded, educated and a very good orator m to a guy like Trump who represents (proudly) the uneducated, a guy who can't get thru 6 words without stumbling and fumbling .
