I am so happy with your mini series; feeding your garden. I just bought my first work castings. I can still return it, so I'm hoping to now buy vermisterra thanks to u. I learned that they funner them normal, aged for 7yrs, and organic, no fillers. Sounds like a great company. I love family owned, & chemical free. I'm new to indoor and outdoor plants since my recovery from a 2 month coma i was in. It is my saving grace. My best therapy is watching them grow. 😊 thanks

Great video. It should be noted that the amounts and strength of pesticides used today is nothing like tthose in decades past. I do not use chemicals on my farm BUT this means a lot more work because plants must now get their nutrients from the soil instead of artificially. We have enormous worm bins (in the ground) and make hundreds of pounds annually that we put on the soil. We also compost between rows (burying all manner of bio material) and this attracts worms,

I learned that worm castings have an earthy smell unlike other manuer products which always grosses me out and is the reason I've never used in the past... so happy to hear that this organic way of fertilizing does not have that and lends itself as an option for me. Thanks for sharing such an informative video...You both did such an awesome job and I am even more inspired to go organic! Thanks so much! :)

The quality of those castings is amazing. I was using Home Depot castings before I started vermicomposting. The store bought variety is diluted at least 4:1 with inert bedding materials. The difference is pretty incredible. I use a blender to prepare my worm food from kitchen scraps. I don't even screen my compost - I just pick out the worms and larger bits of bedding and top dress my planters. Fresh castings will have live worm cocoons and a bunch of tiny beneficial insects that form a complex soil web of life - they break down rotting organic stuff so that plants can access those nutrients. They will help break down organic fertilizer amendments and make much better use of them in your soil. After the plant dies, the dead roots will provide even more food for the soil web. Just top dress with more castings, amend with organics and wait a little while before planting so the critters have time to do their thing. Make them work hard so you don't have to!

From this video I learned that aged worm casting are more beneficial to plants than fresh castings. As a new gardener(just started last year) these tips are very helpful and I will write this down in my gardening notebook. This tip also ties in nicely with information from a composting book I recently read which stated that unfinished compost can rob nitrogen from your soil, and therefore your plants, since it will be used to complete the composting process. This video was very informative and very helpful and it will change how I use worm castings. Thank you so much Kim and Mindy! :)

i learned so much from this video. I like many always thought the fresher the worm castings was the better, i learned that the older it is it is actually better because when its fresh there is still undigested matter that is still decomposing. it is interesting that they have no fillers in this brand that the customer is actually getting a truly organic product, that is actually safe for the plant and we won't have to worry about any adverse effect from the foods we grow and eat. Keep the videos coming Cali.Very informative.

I didn’t know anything about worm casting. I especially like the fact that you only apply them once for the season. That saves time.

I started a worm bed with an old piece of carpet used munched leaves and put carpet down , this was last year, this year I went out yesterday lifted carpet and had tons of worms and lots of castings, just scraped the top couple inches put down more leafs and put carpet back down to let them keep doing their thing, probably got 40 to 50 lbs of castings, gonna age them for a bit . just an idea for making your own.

I did not know you could mix coco fiber with the worm compost. I used to teach science with students using a worm farm. When I retired I brought it home. It is great for plants and now I will use it to start plants too. Thank you

I'm definitely ordering this product. I loved the owners passIon for growing organically. I've considered using worm castings in seed starting. But I had no idea it wouldn't burn roots. I feel better about starting off my transplants with some castings now. It's so interesting how such a small amount could produce great results.

I had no idea you could age worm castings. I always thought they lose their microbial activity the longer they sit. Thanks to both of you for the informative video.

Thanks for the great information! Haven't done much research on worm castings, so lots of new and good information. I was especially interested to learn that worm castings offer more than just NPK and that it is gently enough to use with seedlings! Definitely going to be buying some this year and adding it to my seed starting mix, as well as my garden!

I learned quite a bit, that you can use it with coco coir for a mix for seedlings, that aged castings are actually better than fresh (nutrients are broken down), you can add it to established plants in containers or ground garden. And you do not need to reapply as with other fertilizers. I may give this a try this season.

Wow that was a very informative video. I knew very little about worm casting before your video series. I’ve been composting for years and usually just pile up my leaves and yard waste into a corner of my yard. I always got a lot of worms in my compost and found that the more worms in my compost pile the better my plants would do. Now I know why. I’m very curious to try worm casting and worm tea in my garden this year. Thank you for sharing a great video.

I learned quite a few things from this video. I knew about what worm castings were but I never thought about using them in my garden because I didn't know what their benefits were. now I know that they are very humus rich and provides lots of nutrients for any plants. not only does it keep the plants from burning I can use it after so long and it would still give me some good to results after time. I'm definitely going to use this regardless if I win the free package.

I love this method of gardening. Very informative, I did not know to use Worm Casting in seed starting with Coco Core! I am so excited! I have a commercial greenhouse at our Ranch, we are moving there in about 5 months the house is nearly completed. I have been experimenting with various methods in the green house. Definitely doing all organic! I have already placed an order for some of the Vermis Terra produces! Thank you for this very helpful video!!
