Seems like a good deal all things considered, but of course I'm biased. The CW, at least for me, is right above ESPN on the TV guide so people will at least see that games on. Now that the full deal is out, I just hope that the two undecided start times on 10/19 and 11/9 for WSU are at 12:30 PT and not 7:00 PT.

The thing about Stanford, particularly football, is that they are using an endowment strategy which covers coaching salaries and sports scholarships - the two largest expenses for athletic departments.

Cal football was greatly impacted by the city of Berkeley’s COVID response. Berkeley had one of the harshest COVID rules in the country.

WSU had more Donations from Alumni than any other Pac-12 School last year. 63 Million Dollars. So not sure why you would think Washington State can't "Afford" options ?

With the lack of money that their media deal has plus the expected large payout they will have to pay for the lawsuits, it's looking for more likely that the Pac-12 and the Mountain West will completely merge together. I don't see any way Oregon State and Washington State could afford to do anything else.

JY and Steve, Shouldn't the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc, be paying about 131 colleges a portion of the revenue these professional organizations generate yearly? The reason for my question is that these colleges are the incubation institutions that prepare athletes for these professional leagues and don't get anything in return from these professional sporting organizations. The money that media houses pay out to these colleges for the job they do is arguably not even enough for the NFL, NBA, MLB in particular to counter that these academic institutions are handsomely compensated for the job they do. What do you guys think?

Can Stanford make it as an Independent in football like Notre Dame in the future?

So long as they have their NBC deal and a path to the playoff. They played in the ACC in 2020 (weirdest thing in the world) because they didn’t have a path to the playoff bc everyone was playing conf only. Until the Playoff drops them, they won’t join a conference

I hate to say it but the Civil War OSU/UO game has lost relevance to me as a fan. I understand the need for schedule and quality opponents but the last Civil War game has been played. I will enjoy not needing to listen to games on the radio due to lack of easy to watch TV games. Go Beavs!
