that yellow paint mark are proof from factory that the nut was torqued, after each bolt is torqued they mark the nut/bolt, also can give you an easy quick glance in the event the bolt/nut backed off or lost torque in some way
@BTrain-is8ch4 жыл бұрын
And because fasteners may stretch when torqued down properly you can't really use the marks as a reference beyond the initial torquing they get from the factory.

I love the detail in the videos. Always explain just how it is done. Confidence inspiring and I know how difficult it is to get all the intricate elements in shot. Great stuff. Look forward to the next vids always.
@danielstafford72552 жыл бұрын
The yellow marks are put there when the bike is built as let's say a check list to show that vital bolts/nuts have been torqued, also an indicator if they come loose as the marks won't line up, it isn't for tightening until they line up and its then at correct torque, you could tighten 10nm over and they would line up you could do 10 under and they would line up. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being an ass I'm not but someone would probly end up putting something together finger tight and think oh well the marks line up and end up having an accident

If you put a plastic bag over the black wheel nut, then place ur socket over that and torque to specs you can avoid scuffing the wheel nut.
@eduardobernal4534 жыл бұрын
Just re-watched the video on my TV instead of my phone and I see that you did use the plastic bag on the nut. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You can prevent marks from the big nut tools by placing a pliable plastic layer between the nut and the tool.

Great video, just a couple of things, I'm sure the lube supplied with the chain was for the pins on the master link, not the 'O' Rings. Surely all you've done is sealed in a dry chain link. Also after just changing my wheel nuts on both sides of the rear wheel on my V4S, it does say in the workshop manual that you should grease the threads and also the touching faces on these.

Hi Bill, I have the sf in stealth black and I really hated seeing the grease underneath my seat cowl. It was coming from the rear chain sprocket. How can I avoid that from happening?
@CaliMotoTV3 жыл бұрын
Clean your chain and sprocket off and use a different type of lubricant that doesn't fling. Use a bit of chain cleaner by motul to wipe it off.
@chrisphillips23583 жыл бұрын
Bill, why did you change the front sprocket? It's hidden away so visually you cant really see it, unless there's another reason?

Great video and all but why is everybody doing a 520 conversion and why a quick change. Is this just to be cool or is it actually doing some improvements? I beet the hell out of my v4 and at 14k miles my chain is shot. I wanted a 530 chain off the busa, apparently i cant get the sprockets. I dont want to look cool nor do i care about a few grams of weight. I want durability and longevity. Comments and explanations please. Cali Moto..comments?
