I said Calipari would likely be an NIT team the day he was hired. How so many missed it I don’t know. Cal does not care about basketball, he’s totally disrespected the game and his universities for a personal crusade. It’s time Calipari was thrown out of the game. He’s not good for it and he needs to go into social work if he wants to pretend to be for the downtrodden. What he’s doing is leaching off of elite athletes and wants to be seen as mother Teresa for doing it. The truth is he’s using elite athletes to make a hundred million for his own family, while disrespecting the programs others built and the game that’s made him wealthy. It’s time for him to go.

As a UK fan I haven't forgotten how the overwhelming majority of national media had Arkansas over us. They all were so sure that Calipari, not Kentucky, was the brand. That's why I'm taking more delight laughing at them than Arkansas fans.

Oh yeah? Well, I said that Mark Pope would be 14-4 by mid-January including a loss to Alabama. Are you impressed?

@ngarcia103 Nail on the head. Cal mooching off the KY brand for too long. The only championship came after an NBA lockout forced guys to return, and it stacked the roster.

I'm not worried that we (Kentucky) lost to Alabama. Close game that ultimately came down to a couple possessions that the Tide took advantage of and we didn't. We still have a good team.

Gary you should know that the rumors here in Lexington are he tried to strong arm Barnhart when Mitch told Cal the AD’s office was coming back in to force changes, when cal realized they were going to use a breach of contract for him talking to Ark, he agreed to make changes on his staff and approach but Mitch told him no, we’re moving on. Staff cha he’s were already being forced at UK that’s what Welch was. Cal was told no; you cannot hire Brad Calipari. Arkansas’s AD must be really bad to allow him to hire that awful staff AND his staff. This Hunter guy seems to be totally out of the loop in ways that he shouldn’t be. Did they not check into what was happening at UK with Cal? He was being FORCED to change his staff until Mitch found a way out. And when he found a way, he essentially fired him. What is Arkansas thinking? And it won’t get better Cal thinks he’s too far above Arkansas. If they try to make him change his staff, he’ll probably settle and retire.

Losing Robic + Peavy = Calipari's doom. That, and the game changing, something (NO idea what) happening to that man's brain/life/something during the COVID season (seriously, he was never the same after.. I know the 38-1 Wisky loss kinda broke all of us.. but post COVID he was a different man)... CALIPARI IS DONE-APARI. Sad to see, fuckin loved that man in his first ~7-8 yrs :(

I’m not giving up on the Cats, we’ve played 6 top ten teams and won 5 of them. Kentucky will be ok. I didn’t expect the season we are having this year. Pope will get it done at Kentucky!

Boiler up! That said, don’t write off the Ducks, they had a terrible shooting day and Purdue is playing great lately. Oregon is an awesome addition to the BIG. You can have back all those other clown pac 10/12/whatever teams. Altman is awesome and I expect to see Oregon in it at the end of this season and future ones.

Last season at Kentucky Cal had a coach that taught the 5 out offense to start the season, we were scoring over 90 points a game. We had three big men on the bench injured and waiting to get eligible. The offense was a great thing to watch, but we knew what would happen when those bigs got into action. Cal went straight back to the plow mule, rock fight offense that he loves! Clogging up the lane with bigs and trying to score everything through the paint. Cal wouldn’t change for Kentucky, he’s not gonna change for Arkansas. He brought those same ole drone assistant coaches in with him, Kenny proved he can’t coach, Chin spends to much time at the clubs. Cal doesn’t want coaches that challenge him!

I feel like someone is pulling a prank on us 😢.

I'm curious. How is Kentucky supposed to fix defense when they can't play defense? Alabama shot 34FT, Georgia shot 39FT...in both of these losses, Kentucky took more shots in the paint and drove the ball more than both teams and took less threes than both teams in each of these games. I don't know what you're supposed to do with that 😂

Is the Kentucky fan of 40+ years I can tell you what happened to Cal. He lost is go between (Peevey) with Mitch. Kenny Payne left and he and John robic had a falling out who was part of all the best teams cal had. When they left all around the same time right before covid it went belly up. He ran himself out of KY. He is stubborn and has surrounded himself with yes men and lazy coaches

Many things contributed to his downfall (losing World Wide Wes was the beginning of his recruiting problems, then falling out with his guru Robic, for starts). He almost had a chance of a modern comeback last year with the best trio in CBB- Sheppard, Dillingham and Reeves, but by the end of the year, he reverted from his high powered offense under a new innovative offensive assistant coach, and forced his team back to feed the middle and clog the lane, handcuffing his stars. This is important because he has been resistant to hire anyone who challenges him and put anyone who did out to pasture. On good authority, it was a circus out of control behind the scenes at Kentucky in the last few years. Then who did he hire at Arkansas? His trusted “yes” men. Hiring fresh, young, modern minds will not help. He will not listen. He probably won’t hire anyone who would even try to challenge his now stubborn ways, much less allow them to tell him where he’s going wrong. This once innovative, ahead of the curve, boundless energy man has become lazy and is stuck in 2012, his most successful year, and is only trying to change things around the edges … but no change in core 2012 philosophy, no scouting or tape, no self awareness. It truly saddens me.

Everyone is missing that what cal excelled at was recruiting. He didn’t know how to make pieces fit and sure don’t know how to coach them any more but his whole thing was getting good players. The NIL era makes that absolutely null and void. If he’s not doing what he’s been best at his whole career then he doesn’t do anything else well enough to be a high major coach. He’s DONE!

You clearly have no idea what your talking about!! You lose one game and all the sudden Kentucky is the worst team in the world. UK fans please just disregard this idiot on the right. I hope you’re watching this Lamont Butler! I hope you’re watching this Andrew Carr!! If this was anybody other than Kentucky then there’s no way that these guys would be this disrespectful!

Too many of these guys have taken so many "gufts" from Cal to talk good about him. They naturally just started reeming KY after the fans wanted Cal gone. It shows how strong that "good ole boy" culture is in sports media. It's why they all hate Matt Jones. Given where Matt is from and who his people are...He'll tell you what he really thinks before he'd take any hush money😂
