Chin up makes you feel good about yourself. Pull ups remind you how weak you are.😐

It just feels different to me. My max pull up reps was 16 about 2 months ago. Even though i've never tried to see my maximum for chin ups it just feels harder to me and i think i just couldn't do 16 reps

This is a Great Video. Not only in terms of the information but also from the technical point of view. You shot the video with a high professional effort. The light is perfect, there’s nothing to disturb observing you doing the exercises. It looks easy and I totally understand your instructions but it is damn hard performing such a fundamental exercise like the chin or pull up the way you do it. Thanks for the explanations.

Make sure to engage your scapula before doing pullups. If not, the dead hang angle will be bad for your shoulders over time. There is no substitute for these workouts! I’ve been working them for years, now I can get up to 36 pullups (not strict) in one set. Keep working my friends!

How would you recommend doing this, I do my pull ups regularly so I’m trying to avoid long term injuries
@alex.pendleton
@alex.pendleton 2 жыл бұрын
@@kajuanweaver1607 while hanging from the bar, pull up very slightly only using your shoulder blades (arm should still be locked out). This should move the tension from your shoulders to your upper back. A good visualization that helps is to lean back a little and focus on getting your sternum to the bar. Most people just hang directly under the bar and try to pull straight up until their chin gets over the bar, which will stress your shoulders over time.

I think that was the idea...like why they teach how to drive stick shift on a muscle car so you can hear when to shift. I know zero about body mechanics, so it is very helpful to me to be able to see the muscles on the person while they are performing the exercise. Then I can try and imitate.

Generally speaking, chin ups will work your biceps and chest more and they are also slightly more effective for the upper back, while pull ups are best for the biggest muscle in your back, the lats! We highly recommend doing both if you can.

For whom it may concern, start with pull ups. There is no substitute. When u cant get past a certain #, add chin ups. Always do pull ups first, then do ur rows or whatever then do chinups. I was stuck at like 12 pull ups, added the chin ups and now 20 pull ups r not a problem on the 1st set. Hope this helps.

In the zone, 55 years ago i had a high performance job and my longevity had a lot to do with my speed, endurance and that worked better with the correct muscles well developed, didn't matter what i looked like. This is a bunch of memories right here. Funny i stated watching this and decided to go for a long walk. I'm still healthy.

Personally the older I get the harder it is to do pull-ups. I'm in decent shape, do Muay Thai 4 times a week, 40 push-up, etc....but I consistently can only get like 3-5 pull ups. Months into doing them almost everyday. I'm 30 today, when I was 21 I could do 15 when I was out of shape. Idk why this is. Been hanging a lot to help with my grip.

I’d like to be better at pull up because it’s more practical in life or death situations. If I fall of a bride, roof, scaffolding or something and happen to grab onto something, I’ll have most likely grabbed it over hand and not underhandedly.
