Thanks for showing us how to do these moves correctly. I have seen quite a few HIIT videos that include Knee-to- Elbow Planks and the Forearm Plank, but they don't bother telling you to make sure you are not stressing your spine. It makes such a difference when you are really concentrating on using those ab muscles, and only them. Faster is not necessarily better!

Summary, no crossfit
@assaado6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hofmann in real sports (like calisthenics), people with solid strength and knowledge show beginners (who kip and wiggle/swing up) how to do pull-ups in extreme perfect form. In CF wiggling around like an electrified fish is an actual "skill".
@assaado6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hofmann maybe you should move your wiggling/swinging defense to crossfit channels instead of throwing them in calisthenics channels that preach perfect form.
@assaado6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hofmann says every single crossfitter out there. Just keep on throwing hundreds of comments on calisthenics channels and platform; it won't make the CF bad form change.
@assaado6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hofmann there are different training styles, thats for sure; and pull-ups remain the same across all training styles (calisthenics, gymnastics, etc) except in CF boxes where they preach cheating (aka reps for time) and extreme bad form. No one really cares how you defend the pathetic execution of moves done in bad form that could lead to permanent injuries to people; you may keep defending the swinging crap on our communities as much as you want (i have seen hundred of comments for you all over calisthenics channels on youtube). When people want to learn how to execute skills and exercises perfectly, they come to us. So enjoy calling us, ignorants, MR cf.😂
@assaado6 жыл бұрын
Peter Hofmann your CF babble and pathetic defensive attitude does not change facts. Apparently you have no idea what a proper/perfect form is. You are just another CF cult worshiper who would spend his days and nights defending the terrible form we see at CF boxes. Even Dave Durante himself attacked the stupid swinging done by CF cult. The KIP is an actual gymnastics skill that requires months of hard work and dedication; not a single crossfitter world wide can execute the kip on the rings, I dare you show me one single crossfitter who can do it in good form.i dare you find a crossfitter who can execute a muscle up in good form (not perfect form). Your emotional crap is a personal thing, i, and others, do not care for your feelings; in calisthenics we do not allow bad form, egoistic attitude, cult preaching. In calisthenics and gymnastics, a good form is a good form and a bad form is a bad form.

I don't want to buy or have space for dip bars, but I actually use a corner of my kitchen counter for dips, knee raises. The place where two counters come together at a 90 degree angle is just right where I can lift myself up and have clearance for my legs. It also keeps my hand strength from limiting my ab exercises.

If you want a cheap, portable set of dip bars, get a foldable walking frame (preferably without wheels). You can get them really cheaply at thrift stores. They're good unless you're really big or tall. they wobble a bit, but that helps you keep good form...

Hey, just another awesome video :) Could you please answer for this question?it would mean and help a lot :D So, I workout 3 times a week, on every 2nd day, I always rest on the weekends, and I always train for all muscles, for about 40mins, with only a little rest, and I do it until muscle failure. Is it a good way to improve my strength or I'm doing it wrong? I'm rather going for strength than big muscles, My workouts are always intense, and I do everything properly, not cheating on any exercise :D My goal is now to be able to do a decent muscle up, unfortunately I still can't do it, Altough I can do 20 pull-ups :c

Calisthenicmovement I love this channel and have found your content helpful, but I don’t think that you should be making a video about situps, when it is very obvious to me that you do not actually know how to do proper situps with good form. (Based off of the clip you open the video with). I started off doing situps the way you demonstrated, nearly 20 years ago, and have been through several variations since then. Your first mistake is the one that nearly everyone makes, you clasp your hands behind your head. This stretches the neck forward, causing strain on the discs in the neck and spine. This leads me to your second mistake, which is related to your first mistake, but requires seperate correction. (You can still misalign your spine, even without putting your hands behind your head). Your second mistake is the way you lean forward, particularly when sitting up, but also when coming back down. Keep your hands pinned to your chest, in a straight vertical position, like a boxer s hand positions, but slightly lower, and pressed to your chest. Focus primarily on keeping you shoulders rolled back, and keeping your posture straight up. Doing this will actually make the way back down to the floor much harder than the situp portion of the exercise, but to do situps the way you demonstrate pretty much guarantees that you will do damage to your spine in the long term. It s also worth noting that the proper situps I have described not only greatly reduce the strain put on the spine, but they also INCREASE the load being supported by the abs, making the gains more efficient. There are still more effficient core excercises out there, but the situp should nonetheless be a staple of any fitness regime, as; when done properly, it provides substantive benefits to core and lower back strength.
