I followed every step to the letter. Definitely DID NOT download those texture packs! It fixed the multiplayer problem on my husband’s ps5. It would always say “installation suspended” no matter what we did. Now it works perfectly! Thank you!!!! 🙏🏽

OK. First, Make sure that you have none of the HD Texture packs installed. Those cause all kinds of bugs on Ps5. Second, Make sure the game is on your SSD and not a external HDD. In fact, pro tip, Only use a external drive for storage. Any game you want to play, play it off the SSD. Then if none of that works, go into the game, uninstall all the packs and then uninstall the game from the Ps5 Menu. Otherwise, you'll get a nasty system bug you won't be able to remove unless you perform a factory reset. Then re-install the game. Hopefully that works for you.

You have to uninstall all packs first and then uninstall Modern Warfare. That is the most important step.

Try this, go into the settings and restore your licenses. This is a problem that sometimes happens. It shouldn't delete anything. Just refresh your systems understanding of what you own digitally. Hope this helps.

OK so do you have any HD Texture Packs installed. Those are the problems. If you do. Uninstall all of them and then you should be good. If that doesn't work try reinstalling the game but be warned. Don't uninstall the game from the Ps5 main menu. That will create a bug. Uninstall each pack within the game and then you can uninstall from the Ps5 Menu.

It also sent my ps5 into a hard power down in which I was unable to power back up with controller. Deleting all game files seems to have restored my ps5 to normal function.

In the Ps5 Menu, on the option tab for Modern Warfare, click on the manage additional content. See if the SP, Spec Ops and MP packs are installed or uninstalled. Besides that, I'm stumped.

@@thatjay5852 I ran into the same problem. Try to reinstall the game but don't do it from the Ps5 menu until you individually uninstall all the data packs in the game. If this doesn't work then you unfortunately have to do a factory reset. Don't forget to save your Ps5 saves with a ps+ account. it's the only way to save those.

Just got MW second hand, copied from the disc no worries but won't open. Full first day download is still on the go but the game won't even boot to the first menu! OK, one of your problems may be that you have the HD texture packs installed. Those will not work on a Ps5. Also, make sure you are playing the game off of the SSD and not a external HDD.

For me the multiplayer works now with disc on the PS5. First I uninstalled the most important step all packs (all multiplayer packs and all high resolution packs deleted) then I completely deleted Modern Warfare from my PS5. Then I switched off the PS5 and unplugged it for more than 30 seconds. I took the disc out before and then put it back in when it started up. MW will be reinstalled. First I installed the Multiplayer Pack 2 (22,5 GB) and immediately afterwards installed the Multiplayer/Special Ops Compatability Pack (7-8 GB) in the queue and then you see how the percentage went from 0% to 100%. Then I went back to multiplayer and didn't close the game during that time and it works!

You don't have to do the factory reset unless you made the mistake of uninstalling the game from your Ps5 home menu. Try this instead, go into the game, uninstall every pack you can. Then when that is done, uninstall the game from the system and try to reinstall it without the HD texture packs.

This could be a issue with the internet service you have. It also could be a issue with the source code of the game. MW has not been optimized for the Ps5 and I am not a expert on Multiplayer. Are you playing this through the Ps5's SSD or are you playing through a external HDD?

Yes. That order sounds about right. I don't believe you need to install single player or spec ops however, one of the packs I believe has part of those two included with one of the Multiplayer packs. so remember to look at each pack name. Hope it works for you.

@@EleventhHourReviews it worked for about 4 hours and then it tried to install the 1.43 update that's due to kick in tomorrow but I didn't have enough space....I closed the game and then went back in and the Multiplayer Pack 2 pack had uninstalled. I don't know whether or not that 1.43 update had an impact on the multiplayer pack 2 or not but I am now reinstalling the multiplayer pack 2 again but I have a feeling it will say Installation Suspended again even though I have what I need to play. It's an absolute joke this and it beggars belief that Activision haven't fixed it or even addressed it

@@uglyrobot3622 I know how you feel. I believe it's a safe bet that the next COD game to release will be Modern Warfare 2. The fact that this game has so many problems on Ps5 is going to become a major issue for Activision next year. I have come across people who had problems after updates. I have yet to come across any but, I did perform a factory reset on my console. If your download page on Ps5 has a notification about MW that you can't remove you may have to do that. I hope you don't. Let me know if the problem persists after reinstalling. I would recommend uninstalling all packs (in-game) after getting the update and trying again on multiplayer.

I downloaded the pack last night which was followed by the 1.43 update and I've just looked and the multiplayer is saying installation suspended again but showing I have the miltiplayer pack 2 and multiplayer/spec ops compatibility pack installed. I'm gonna try and delete those packs and try again. If this doesn't work then I give up, the amount of time I've put into this game on the non-playing side of it is unreal

Too all you guys still having issues I suggest u guys save your clips and game progress and then factory reset. This is going to sound off but Absolutely Nobody is right. LOL. But yes I have found talking with a lot of people that this seems to ultimately be the thing that helps. Hello Lee, I experienced this exact same thing. It is a bug that is essentially stuck in you system and the way I got rid of it was performing a full factory rest of my Ps5. Sorry you experienced that.

I would say install everything except for HD Texture packs. Absolutely get the compatibility packs. Start with everything single player related, leading into spec ops and then Multiplayer related content.

@@leximae1029 remember if you decide to uninstall the game, don't do it from the ps5 home screen. First uninstall each pack within the game and then you can do it normally. otherwise there's a bug that is placed on the ps5 system that can't be removed unless you perform a factory reset.

But it still says "multiplayer pack 2 is still being downloaded" even though it's not. Was I supposed to go into the game and select the game installs? Hi all, easier fix rather than wiping the PS5, delete all game packs from the inside the game menu, then uninstall the game. Then rebuild database in safe mode reinstall the game then update it. Install multiplayer packs, what ever you do don't install the HD texture packs and tadaaaa fixed

Did you perform the uninstall in the game or from the Ps5 menu. Search the in-game menu where you can install the data packs and see if you can uninstall/reinstall from there. If none of that works you may have to do a full uninstall from in the game and reinstall. If that fails you may need to fully reset your Ps5. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

I came across something similar where during cut scenes, the audio would cut out or voice lines would delay from mouth movements. I found after letting the scene play out, I could go back and watch the cut scene again.

So yes, internet speeds are a factor, I won't argue that point. But, regardless of internet situation, the system breaking bug and data packs going missing have been documented on other gaming setups from large gaming journalist outlets. My recommendation is if you happen to have a xbox one x or series x, maybe get it for that system. If not, my method seems to work pretty well. Just avoid those HD texture packs.

I ran into a similar issue. See if you can (In game) uninstall anything related to multiplayer and reinstalling. If that doesn't work, then unfortunately you'll have to do a factory reset of the console. Feel free to seek a second opinion. Factory resets are a pain in the rear end.

Hello, If you watch my video you'll see that I fixed it by eliminating the HD Texture packs. They're causing a lot of your problems. If you uninstalled the game from your Ps5 home screen at anytime, that also creates a but preventing the game from working. Only way around that bug is transfer the game from a Ps4 or reset your console to factory default. Hope this helps.

I bought PS5 and 2019 MW for my birthday. At first, everything was fine, I downloaded and installed all packs. Then I started the campaign and the audio un sync from the video. EVERY pre rendered cutscene has this issue or sometimes cutscenes won’t even play and it ends up in a endless black screen. That was my first issue. I left the game and retuned the next day to play some more campaign. Well, guess what. All my packs were missing! I was like *uhm what?*. I checked the external HDD and idk why but all my MW packs were moved to CoD WW2. WTF! WW2 don’t need and don’t even recognize MW packs. Wtf is than nonsense? I didn’t delete WW2 just in case it bugs again and removes the MW packs from MW. Luckily I still have my PS4. Tomorrow I’m gonna reconnect everything to play the game on the PS4. As for the MW multiplayer, no problems there… for now.

Hello, So when I was playing the campaign on Ps5 I noticed that audio unsynced during cut scenes as well. This is a problem with Activision and best I can suggest is let the scene play out, and when the next mission starts, get out and watch the cut scene by itself in the video menu after it unlocks. As for the missing packs, that has a few solutions. First, one fix is install the game on your Ps4 without the HD texture packs. Then transfer the game over to your Ps5. Also, when deciding to play it, put it on your SSD. I avoid playing any games off a external HDD anyway. Only use them for game storage. Plus, the Ps5 hates the HD texture packs. So avoide having those on your game at all costs.

Update: Well, my MW was kinda broken at first, it failed on my PS5 and even my PS4 for the campaign. Cutscenes were un synced or in most cases, didn’t even played for both PS4 and PS5 . But once you finish the campaign it seems that everything seems ok. About the high quality textures, I figure how to enable them on PS5 without loosing the other packs, but there’s a catch. You have to own CoD WW2 in order for this to work (at least, it’s the CoD that I tried and it worked). All MW packs are gonna be moved to WW2 even tho WW2 doesn’t even need MW packs. Once WW2 has MW packs, you’ll have to re download MW packs without deleting the other MW packs that are in WW2. Doing this will let you use MW high quality packs on PS5. I haven’t got more problems with MW doing this tho my WW2 is now 172gb, that’s the bad part, you’ll probably need and external HDD to have more space room. Bad english, I know, sorry about that.

Mr X that is really odd. Older COD game still have their stores open. It might be a temporary down marketplace. It also could be a bug. Did you try to uninstall from the Ps5 home screen first? I had to do the same thing. if you have any ps5 save files, you're going to want to get a ps+ subscription so you can save them to the cloud before doing the reset. Ps4 save files, video clips and screenshots can be saved on a usb flash drive.

Theoretically if you connected the external hdd to a ps4, installed the game that way and transferred it over to your ps5, that should work but the bug will always be there. So the but will show it's always being downloaded even if it's not.
