yea, the game's name is "vanguard". in other words, "task force 1". That is the story. How the first task force was formed during ww2.

@@jurilantov6761 no they confirmed that with Modern Warfare 2019 that all the games are connected in(software rebooted universe and the zombies are indeed connected aswell in which Treyarch confirmed the zombie storyline is canon to the new connect universe). So the games from MW 2019, Cold War, and the upcoming MW2 and BO game that is coming in releasing 2023 is going back to the BO2 era are all connected.

Game coulda ended with, after the credits, a final mission of tracking the nazi guy down in his nice American suburbs in the sixties and executing him for his crimes. Showing that even after all the crap he spouted to you, there was no escaping his sins- and after he had served the only use he had, he was eliminated like the rest. A memorable, surprising and satisfying way to end the game. but nope just end it with the main characters committing a literal war crime on a valuable asset in the sake of badassery. Like it's such a paint by the numbers ending man that not only has it been done a billion times but it's been done enough for movies like inglorious bastards to then go against that cliche on top of it. Honestly, I was hoping the story would be a more "hunt down Hydra" in post-WW2 deal, but it looks like that's being saved for Warzone. Once again, everything is a set up for CoD's battle royale and those of us who just don't care get a by the numbers generic story. 🙄 I ultimately decided to opt out of getting Vanguard because there are no factions in multiplayer (it's all a "training exercise"), and I really didn't see anything else that was very appealing. If you decided to get it, more power to you, but this yearly CoD release cycle needs to end. Looking forward to Halo Infinite, which will is just over a month away!

@@taboret3280 well Americans did fight in WW2 and yes, they include Americans in the game...what are you talking about? Also CoD WW2 had polish characters and this will likely have a polish operator in a future season. They can't include a character for every nation that contributed to the war.
