actually, no, Makarov's first appearance was technically in COD4: MW, if u played MW3 (2011) it is revealed that Makarov (and Yuri) were in the car that helped Zakhaev escape during his failed assassination attempt carried out by Lieutenant Price (his rank was Lieutenant at the time) and Captain Macmillan.

Nothing beats the modern warfare ending with Zakhaev for me it was my first cod that started it all…sad to see where the game lead too considering the raw passion the earlier cods showcased. Infinite Warfare is the MOST criminally underrated Call of Duty. The campaign in this game was awesome. Especially with the extra difficulty levels you get after beating it. The multiplayer was pretty good too. The movement, gunplay and hitmarkers were smooth. I don't understand why jetpacks get so much flack.
