I like a fact that unlike any other battles, the more the Russian army march deeper and deeper into the heart of German (Berlin), the more inhumane and insane the battle become. It perfectly convey all the angers and vengeances the Russian army was having deep inside its heart and soul.

YES! If studying history doesn't upset you sometimes, then you're not really studying history. I love this game for a lot of reasons as a history nerd and gamer, but mainly for the way it takes the whole "Feel Good War", turns it upside down, and ruthlessly tears it apart, whether in the form of being forced to make an unethical choice or "We won, but NO ONE is happy". "Feel Good War" MY ASS. Also, it's spoken highly of by Extra Credits.

Shows how anyone would act toward the ppl who not only killed your entire family, but family friends and ppl you cared about, the raping they did will nvr be okay to me, killing German soldiers however is completely understandable. We in the US would do the same if an invading army had devastated our homeland the way the nazis did Russia and we had reversed the war and were now in their homeland like the Russians were when they took Berlin.

What I love about this game (and the earlier WW2 COD games as well) is that there is no main villain. They’re not chasing or hunting down a secret mastermind, it’s just all out, brutal war where both sides were embroiled in atrocities while fighting for revenge and survival. The brutality shown towards the Germans in this game kind of makes you sympathise for them despite knowing the atrocities the German army committed, especially towards the Russians. This game doesn’t glamorise the Second World War or paint it in a black and white depiction. It shows the ultimate horror and the needless suffering of so many people just to fight to stay alive.

Theres just something haunting about the section of the level where you have to clear the parliament beginning at 4:05, to a point where it's almost as though you're in hell, with the fire and blood splattered all over the walls, with the unnerving soundtrack and whirring playing in the background. You can almost feel the desperation and hopelessness the Nazis are going through, knowing that at this point they're not fighting for their Führer, their nation or their pride, but to stay alive for a mere moments longer, even if the life they have left is to wait for a vengeful-ridden death from the Red army.

The way they actually made you feel like a Russian soldier who survived Stalingrad and made it all the way to Berlin fighting and watching your friends and comrades die one by one thru each battle, but you survived, anyone would want revenge especially against the die hard nazis who were defending Berlin, young boys and girls aside unless they gave you no choice, otherwise the SS defending the final symbol of the nazi regime. I know if I was a Russian soldier like that I'd want to kill any SS I found bc they were the true evil of the nazis. A lot of the German army were just soldiers some even from before Hitler came to power who just wanted to serve their country. The SS however deserved everything that they got from the Russian army, I'm just upset as an American that our boys did a lot of fighting and dying too, granted not as much as the Russians did, and we didn't get to fight in Berlin when I wish we had been bc our troops after all the blood and sacrifices wanted just a chance to take Berlin after all they had done but we just stopped and gave it to the Russians. I can't imagine a soldier who had landed on the beaches and marched his way all the way into Germany itself, losing friends and loved ones the whole way and having to do things no human should just to survive. Then the top brass says just hold your positions were not going to Berlin, sum would be happy to not fight, others would be so disappointed bc all they gave and sacrificed going to Berlin and hav to stop bc of orders.
@thelatestlancerdownload5869 Жыл бұрын
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Berlin Berlin was a fortress. And it was within the Soviet zone of post-war Germany. And taking that fortified city was going to be costly- the Soviets lost 80,000 men in two weeks taking that city. Stalin was happy to feed as many men as it took into the grinder. US and Britain weren't so keen to do the same to their own young men.
