Little detail I loved is how the closer you get to the Reichstag building, the more the German soldiers changed, from your usual hopeless Wehrmacht troops in their grey uniforms and standard weapons like the kar98k and mp-40's, to the black uniforms, fanatic SS honor guard, bloodied and covered in bandages, sporting "advanced" weaponry like the Gewehr 44, flammenwurfer and STG-44. Hell even their German voice lines are different, from the standard "suppressive fire", "medic", "take cover", to "suffer communist pigs" "for the glory of germany", "for the Führer", "Give your lives to the reich". Really envelopes you as to what similarilly the russians faced when storming the reichstag, only thing missing are fanatic French SS volunteers as they were the main defenders inside the reichstag by May 1st.

I think the starting part for Blowtorch and Corkscrew was the hardest. You’re fighting out at night, in the rain, tall grass for ‘cover’, and getting ambushed by spider holes. Add banzai charges with grenade spam and you’ll be in for a really good time. 😅

This is a beautiful segment of missions and I enjoy them, but the reality is that the real Battle for the Reichstag lasted nearly four days.

The way I did it was grab the fg and hide through the corners. When got to the flak canons I ran to the right and kept using tactics

I didnt realize the significance of this level until much later. It wasnt until I saw footage of the red army planting the flag as a symbol of Nazi defeat, that I made the connection to why this level was the final mission in the game.

The seat of power was the Reich Chancellory at the time, not the Reichstag, by the way. Wrong building for the flag raising.

@@BenKlassen1 The Soviets doesn't knew that the Reich Chancellery was the seat of Nazi power, they didn't even knew the existence of the Fuhrer bunker until the end of the war. The reason why they choose the Reichstag is because when its was caught on fire in 1933 it became an excuse to the Nazi party to rise in power and subjugate its political enemies, now by 1945 for the Soviets its capture is also a symbol of Nazi's defeat in war.

The beginning of both missions are so wonderful. #1. "What do you think will bring us home? Writing about this war, or fighting it!" #2. "Steel yourselves, comrades! As heroes we will return to Russias embrace. To our people, our land, our blood..." Also cant talk about the magnificence of WaWs campaign without mentioning the amazing OST. Red Army theme, Hells Gate, Black Cats, Their land their blood. All exceptional OSTs.
