I agree that most soldiers were males but there were some exceptions. The Russians used women especially as snipers. Another example are the British ATS that were women.

I agree that the majority were men and that goes especially for the Germans but if the game has to add them just so that it doesn't get boycott then I agree with the developers. My friend had the same mind set as you going into the game but a few hours in he didn't even notice that something is off. While playing you can't even notice it.
