Thank you, Trixie and Call the Midwife writers for reminding us of the struggle for reproductive rights. And for highlighting what women in the USA will encounter as the "right to birth"-ers have their way. They care not about the life of the mother or the child once born.

Late term and early term abortion have the same main result as killing a newborn does - i.e. a young human being is denied a chance at a full and productive life. That is sad. Killing an unborn child needs to be illegal.

There is no such thing as late term abortion,its a furphy put about by the right to life brigade who believe every foetus has a right to live despite the safety of the mother or the viability of the said foetus Late term abortion is purely for 2 reasons I states in Australia and against the law to terminate a healthy pregnancy after 20 weeks. That gives other health issues and risks Continuing to claim late term abortion like they do in America is political and as such so was the Roe V Wade removal.

I hate the term “reproductive right.” I had to struggle through infertility for 11 years and pay well over $40,000 for medical procedures to be able to become a mom. Where were my “reproductive rights”? No. People use this term instead of “pro-choice” because “right” sounds like a more powerful word. I do applied the show though for tackling the topic in this way
@Thathestiadevotee6 ай бұрын
Abortions cost money too you know. Pro-choice people are also fighting for people to have the right to fertility treatments like IVF. Here in America, there are several politicians trying to ban IVF and you know who’s fighting against that? Pro-choice people.

You don’t need to have a biological child. Your right is to try. Just like no one else needs to have a biological child. That means people get to choose to continue a pregnancy just like you chose to try to get pregnant

You are not in danger of dying by not becoming a mother. A pregnant person can die if things go wrong. That's the difference.
@gingerbuttonwood2364Ай бұрын
I had multiple miscarriages, and only one much treasured living child. But there is no "right" to a child - that's nature's decision, helped along today by medical advances. The child has a right to caring parents, that's all.
@vidwatcher365Ай бұрын
Your reproductive rights are your legal access to fertility treatments. Free fertility treatments or free access to reproductive medicine is a different conversation to your right to use it legally. However, you could have fostered or adopted. You chose to spend 40k and it was your right to do so, just as it should be a woman’s right to access contraception and should the need arise, abortion

Well, then I sincerely hope you are willing and able to pay for the medical care, childcare, education, and general financing of each and every one of those children born to impoverished mothers without resources. Or that you are willing to increase taxes to provide similarly situated services for these mothers. Otherwise, allow them to decide what's best given their situation. Most of us, myself included, have no idea what it would be like to raise a child without job skills or a safety net.
