Also I’ve found the best use for the oil wagons is not as a booby trap but as a roadblock. You can force the enemy AI to path around it if you put it near spawn points or in narrow streets.

Fun fact: if you die at wave 9 you get 2.5 gold bars and a good amount of cash AND get the option to replay the round again. Me and my friend purposely die at round 9 to continually replay the rounds in order to avoid the immediate cool down which by the end gives us around 10 gold bars and over 3k. I tried it out multiple dies and suggest everyone to purposely die at higher rounds in order to replay as many times as you want. More worth it than doing round 10 and waiting 40 mins

Your friend and you actually should just complete it entirely and just swap posses, since cooldown is actually applied to posse. (you invite your friend in a posse, start the mission, finish it, get 40 minutes cooldown, then your friend invites you to his posse and the cooldown is gone)

Lots of the time, if you jump from a higher place instead of running off, your character won't ragdoll. You still take damage of course, but its better then becoming a wet piece of bread lol Now if the height is lethal, I don't think anything changes that (unless a posse member hits you with dynamite, then you can literally fall off a cliff and take no damage lol)

An easy way to avoid falling off roofs while heading for the ladder is to simply put your gun away. You will automatically run if your gun is out, since the game thinks you're in a combat situation if you have it out, and running towards a ladder at the edge of a roof isn't smart to say the least. lol Putting your gun away will force your character to walk instead of run. Doing this has been a lifesaver for me

A tip specifically for Strawberry: Keep moving at all times. This map seems to have very weird enemy spawns where the enemies will frequently spawn point blank on top of you. I've had machete and shotgun guys spawn and instakill me or a friend instantly on this map specifically, it seems to happen more if you go on top of a roof but I have had it happen on the ground as well. This does lead to humorous situations on occasion as horse riders can spawn on roof tops and once after killing their riders, a horse decided to punt my friend off the roof, killing him.

I've found that issue as well, I figured out it's only if you retry and even then it's sporadic. Just close the game and reopen it when you switch posses leaders to skip the wait and you won't have the issue 🤙

I wish that the matchmaking process is much longer at around 2 mins to get a more players in the match... Most of the time when I start up one there's only one or no one else starting at the same time on the same map as me... The current approximate 10 second window of matchmaking & the 48 min cooldown to be able to search for another match are both a hindrance to solo players looking to have a decent time & odds at surviving all 10 waves.

just disconnect your internet if you don't like something, you won't get 48min cooldown if you do that. I've used it several times myself as well. Actually had 2 such cases today. We started as 2, then the other guy died and just left at wave 4. I disconnected my internet and afterwards made another search. It was not any better for the second time tho. Started with 2 more people, 1 of them left without any reason at all at wave 3, then the other guy left after 2 minutes. I know this mode and I had no desire to play it solo (already played, not saying that it's impossible but it takes so fucking long) so I decided to disconnect again hoping for more responsible players.

Today I carried 2 randoms to the 8 and 9 waves finishing the las 3 waves by myself. And I got killed by the maxin wagon in the last 20... and they *RESTARTED IT AGAIN* that was almost an hour 20 or 30 and they wanted to start again instead of getting at least the 2.40 gold... so 1.3 hours carrying people for *NOTHING* they should let us go or finish the event and put the players that want to keep trying in match making again or something.

When choosing sidearms don’t go two revolvers. Go one revolver and one pistol. That way you get ten explosive rounds for each sidearm. If you duel wield the same sidearm you’ll only get ten between the two.

It's not really a problem as they still autoreload when holstered for 10 seconds and when I empty the whole magazine, and on the first wave that's not a big deal, but as a compulsive reloader it kinda grinds my gears :D

I found that when that happens for me, if I run it until it's empty, and it auto reloads, afterwards it seems to work. Oddly enough, I thought my keybinds had gotten screwed up, and so if you go into there and rebind your reload key to the same key it normally is, that works too.

Use HV on Rolling Block or Carcano if you wanna camp roof tops, regular ammo works well for the first 5-6 waves. Then start using HV. Bolt Action also works well if you got a scope on it with rifling and all that stuff that makes it a sniper.

Would also recommend saving your Express Ammo until at least Wave 6 or 7 (save for even later, like Wave 8 or 9, if you're playing solo). Best to keep the highest damage ammo for when the tougher NPCs start to spawn.

If you're getting headshots it doesn't matter what ammo you use, but for body shots the express helps you take down enemies faster with fewer shots. I haven't found much benefit from high velocity, except on occasion a bullet I fire into an enemy will go through them and blow up a TNT barrel.

As always cat you deliver and your accent literally brightens my day along with your humor that tickles me so, especially about the most dangerous things here are bugs and crashes 😂 One thing I think you might have missed is mentioning that if you die on this mode, it won't be over unless all players fail to survive the current wave, so when the complete it, all players get revived for the next wave, sort of like getting revived in dodgeball. First play thru I thought we had all one lives and we would have to spectate all the way through the end, which I am suspecting ruthless difficultly would be like. Have faith cat, with your support for the community and with releases like this, you might single handedly save this gem of a game yet!

The tallest building in Blackwater (northeast side of town) is the best building to snipe and play it safe at after the first 6 rounds. You can use the wagon to block one of the alleyways and put horses in front of the ladders on the ground to block ladders off.

i have something that might help in red dead online in the new survival mode . If you go blackwater you can get all the 10 lawman in the clothing store and let one of your posse friends hold the door while the others fight this is the best way to win with 10 alive . Plus you can win by getting one on any rooftop and you all protecting him .

"While you were looking the other direction" is the key phrase here. Several people noticed (myself included) that spawn system works like the one in cyberpunk in this mode. If no player has his camera turned to certain direction (or players are dead), enemies may spawn in this direction. I also play sniper strategy on blackwater, I am taking the highest rooftop in the middle of the map (guess it's town hall building?) and I have a view that allows me to see enemies coming from every direction (if they spawn normally far away outside of the city) and this happened to me as well. And I am 100% sure that I would have noticed an entire gangbang 10 people squad approaching my building (since icons always show enemies on the minimap as well). So as I understood, there are some spawn points for enemies, in Blackwater it's near the roads outside of the city (when you stand on town hall rooftop, you should turn so the sea will be behind your back, and in front of you will see the road and some buildings outside of the city where enemies spawn). It's crucial to know these spawn points and always look in their direction because if you don't then those spawn points can be moved right behind your back :)

I've noticed one interesting thing - when I was slowly (like reeeeaaally sloooowly) picking up enemies one by one on Strawberry on solo when there was 1 to 3 enemies left (snipers) on the later waves (7-10) suddenly a huge wave of machete and standard enemies started flooding the map and rushing at me and when I killed the equivalent of enemies left from this group (those 3 enemies) they all turned away and ran and the wave was finished. Seems like a mechanic blocking you from taking too long on a wave.

You are the only place I've ever heard that you can't open telegrams while mounted. If only I had heard you say that before reinstalling the game bc I thought mine was corrupted. Thanks to you I can do all those missions now.

Blackwater, put two NPCs on the building in front of you to your left, then use horse to quickly move around the map and take out the enemies. Once round 6 over go to the roof you put the NPCs on and pick up the sniper rifle and take care of enemies from afar with that. Soon dynamite will spawn on the roof, use that to take out the wagon that comes from the South. Then a bow and arrow will spawn with dynamite arrows which will make taking out the wagons easier. That’s what I do and it’s super easy to get to 10

The greatest drawback is when you get an ally that makes it'd harder than it would be solo. Greatest example being the guys on horses who trample me repeatedly.

I'm new to the game and I haven't done this mode but I just did a mission and had a guy like that. He jumped on my horse at the start and left me screwed lol.

@@stpbasss3773 whenever I played this mode and actually got a team I'd have at least one guy charging through the center field and pounding me into the ground with a horse. Also of you play on PS4 I could try to help with whatever your doing in the game.

Finding a nice roof with a sniper rifle is amazing for this mode but you can run into one critical bug while doing this. If you're in one spot on a roof for a long period of time the game gets confused and will start spawning NPCs right next to you. This becomes problematic if they have shotguns. This will also slow down enemy spawns dramatically. I'm talking 2 guys every 20 seconds. This isn't all the time but it seems like 25% of the time my friends and I get this bug and the common denominator is sniping from a roof.

My friend got stuck healing an npc and neither of us knew how to get out of it. I lassoed him and freed him. Later that day I got stuck and I yelled his name and he freed me the same way. Knowing now that you can go 1st person to unstuck yourself, is definitely a game changer.

I just completed the mode solo in blackwater . took me an hour and a half . It was fun as hell . with rolling block rifle , a bow and mouser pistols (don't use bow ).

off weapon should always be a bow equipped with tnt arrows so you can one shot maxim gun wagons and make it quicker

I use slow n steady iron lung strange medicine, and gunslinger choice. I have finished Blackwater three time’s, and it’s pretty fun. Also, I make sure I take 8 dynamite with me, not always do you hit the wagon with the first one.Thanks for the great video.

Pick up the regular bullets for whatever guns you are using in the first waves. Save your special ammo (express, high-velocity...) for later levels when the tougher enemies show up.

I don't recommend using never without one ability because for some reason when the hat falls of it sometimes dissappear which is really bad and makes the build around it totally useless.
