She trained at University of Kentucky and performs with the American Spiritual Ensemble. Formerly she worked at Walmart and went back to school after 40. She was finishing her doctorate while I was at Berea College. Callie is performing in Grey Auditorium at Berea College. Piano is done by Dr. Kathy Bullock

I am a classically trained pianist and singer. I knew this piece sounded familiar after I started listening to it. I remember singing this at my senior recital in college and I sang it similar to her rendition. I had never heard of her rendition til years later though. I sang the first part 3 different ways before getting to the climax of the song. I remember hitting a high A right before the majestic run down at the end of the song. I had gospel soul and operatic tones in my rendition as well. Your analysis of her is spot on operetically as well! Love this piece. You can sang too sir! 🎵😃🎶
