Yame's musical influence must be partially French (old school singers: Aznavour, Leo Ferre etc...), but he also has deep Cameroonian roots, as his father was a professional musician from that country. Insane talent and very original too. Voix magnifique.

Hi J! Glad you did this. I love this song and I don’t understand a word. I now understand how Michael Jackson’s non-English speaking fans felt. By the way he released an official video with English subtitles. I couldn’t keep up with all of them-they go by so fast. I didn’t bother to much anyway because I watched that Colors video a thousand times already. My 5 year old niece asks me to play it. She loves music too. I love everything you love J, about his singing, vocal play, and melodic delivery. That comes across no matter the language and I’m here for it. Thank J. Love your reviews 🎉

I heard once, that the literal physical structure of a native french speakers pallet is shaped by their language. Like anyone who learned french after will always have an accent because their body didnt grow using the french language.

i dont even sing nor do majority of singers give me chills. but the first time i heard the french doods voice, i was captivated. shit is trans-universal to my ears and sounds intergalactic. i listent o music heavy and appreciate all voice types. but, i had neveer come across a voice like his: listening to French, German, Japanese, or american singers. i wanna hear more but i fell this might be it.

Can you comment on the presence of more air to play with because he is missing teeth and it looks like he has an elongated palate? Almost similarly to Freddy Mercury having a unique space to create sound because of his dental and jaw structure. I love this performance and his mouth is something i cannot stop watching because its like i can almost see him create his sound
