Actually I disagree there is a main plot throughout the series. They want you and the fandom believing that Marinette is the main character. However it called the replacement trope. It is someone that effects the false main character( the creator will do anything to keep that illusion until the reveal happens. However if you can spot the clues and THE MAJOR EVENTS you will see the true main character. So who had the biggest episodes? CHLOÉ! Chloé is the true main character. She been a bully, a hero and 2 season finale plots featured her. And in season 4 she suffered a major blow to her own belief. Adrien quit their friendship. Chloé knew it was happening. She’s the type of person that will immediately enter denial and come up with excuses. Which she did. Her though process was this: Oh no. Adrien is stopping his friendship with me. I have to do something. Hmm. I know. I end it first. Because if I do it first it isn’t my fault. It is his. So he’s going to apologize first because I haven’t done anything wrong he has. ( as the season progressed we see Chloé entering the experimental phase. First in guilttrip she willingly makes fun of herself, but the CRITICAL MISTAKES FANS MAKE IS IN OPTIGAMI! They see only one side. And I saw Chloé was actually trying to get zoey out of the way. Chloé was helping zoey up only to shove her out of the way. I believe Chloé knew zoey was most likely the new bee holder and knew the bee was needed. See NOTHING IS WHAT AS IT SEEMS. LEARN TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE BACKGROUND TOO!

I love this redesign of Alya. Also, can we talk about Marinette’s friend group. It’s just so toxic with all of them agreeing on Marinette’s stalker tendencies. I think the worst offenders of this is Alya and Rose because Alya is her friend and Rose thinks it “magical”(yeah, breaking into your crush’s house is considered magical and cute. Yeesh).

as a black girl, i’m in love with your rewrite of alya. she really is underplayed, both in the show and fanfics usually dumbed down to advance and really only be there for marinette, rather than her own person. also, thank you for enhancing her creole features, but not making it her entire personality- some shows tend have a problem with that, but you did an amazing job 😋❗️

The reason why Alya may be "martiniquaise" (from martinique) is because Césaire, her last name, is actually the name of a very famous poet and writer here in the french carribeans, and the man was born and raised in martinique. Aimé Césaire, the poet, was actually treated a bit like a hero at some point : he has statues, museum dedicated to him. He fought for black culture and reclaimed the word "nègre" (the n word in french) to his people, using it as a weapon to describe himself and the black culture. For him we needed to reclaim the word to empower oureself. I hope that helps you guys see why Alya may be from martinique and why she may have this "obsessed by heros" attitude.

Your redesign and rewrite of Alya makes her really come across as a aspiring reporter than she does in the show, she's stylish but helps her blend in, which is pretty important getting big stories and not getting caught out by the villains. I also love her curly hair because all of the other characters have straight hair and it's gorgeous to look at! I'd love a redesign of Winx Club after how bad the live action show was and lost potential it had, but I'd love a redesign of W.I.T.C.H as I'd love to see how they're look modern day and aspects of the show and comic that could be used as a cool reboot and there was two animated spin-offs of Sabrina The teenage witch, which had a lot of potential to be good, but were mediocre compared to the original and a modern Totally Spies as a lot of the outfits are trendy now, but with a modern twist!

My guess with this version of Chloe would use her superhero persona to gain admiration & respect from others, including Ladybug, while putting on an act of righteousness, courage and niceness through intimidating Ladybug mainly till she possibly becomes a better person on her own through her heroism in time. As for why I doubt Alya would figure out her identity, it's because if Chloe still acts her normal self, when not Queen Bee, then would Alya- even as a more intelligent journalist- ever suspect a bratty, self entitled bitch she's known Chloe for being since Alya met her could ever be a superhero?

I genuinely think the main flaw of the characters in miraculous is that Thomas projects too much of his own ideals onto the characters. It’s obvious that all he knows about teenage girls is what he’s seen from early 2000’s shojo. It’s really disappointing that a show that was meant to empower young girls only demonstrates harmful interactions. Whether it be pitting the female characters against each other or making the romantic interactions between Marinette and Adrien toxic, it’s truly awful.

I totally agree with your romance rant. Honestly there are hardly ever any stories where you see them after they get together and the problems with the ones that do I usually their relationship is depicted as a perpetual honeymoon phase. And I hate the trope in movies where they get together at the end of the first movie, than suddenly in the second movie they're broken up, we don't even get to see their relationship degrade into a break up, no we just start the second movie with them apart again and the whole movie is about them rediscovering their love.

I love her hair! And her eyes are so beautiful. The outfits are really cute as well. Though I’m a bit disappointed she’s not a hero in this version though I do think her being more of a journalist fits better. Perhaps she could have been more of a “part time hero”? Someone who has powers but uses them in mostly non combat ways as illusions would be better for investigations then combat anyway. Not every miraculous holder needs to suit up and fight some could have other roles like information gathering, crowd control, search and rescue, defense, infiltration and other things. But don’t get me wrong I really like this. Can’t wait to see more.

Except the point of being a spy is to be inconspicuous so how would she be able to dress up like a fox then? Maybe she’d have the power of disguise: 100% convince everyone that you’re someone else (anyone from the prime minister to the queen) for 5 minutes, nobody questioning you. Give the costume actual fox-like colours to help with camo and up the agility enhancement so that she can get around quickly and silently. I imagine her following her mark assassins creed style, infiltrating any function with her power, getting the scoop, then getting out as Alya. Super high stakes I think 5 mins is probably too short but I always found I enjoyed watching superheroes get around limitations than being OP

Looking at the wiki, apparently the second costume is supposed to be Arctic fox-inspired (but it doesn't read as that at all)... This redesign looks great, I really like the big curly hair!!

It seriously doesn't! And because in MLB, Paris' buildings are all warm colors, Rena Rouge blends in more than Rena Furtive so it's both a bad design _and_ useless!

I absolutely love Alya's style and look especially as Rena. So I can't wait to see your take on her since you are always making people look even cooler! Edit: Hell yeah! Good choices all around. I love her look and new roll. Alya has big eyes and a large forehead, symbolizing her intellect and how she always searches for the truth. And you only emphasized it more with the giant curly hair. Rather than getting a Miraculous, it's cool to see her take a step into a roll of an investigative journalist, which feels like it was the natural route her character should have went. Her being Reina and relying on illusions is actually very ironic when you consider her character and how she hates lying. Making her weapons a camera and pen makes her a much stronger ally than making her a super hero.

Imagine if at the end of this MLB rewrite our four main girls, Alya, Marinette, Chloe and even Lila became best friends. I feel like the four of them could click very well and could learn so many things form eachother. Alya and Marinette could help Chloe and Lila become better people. Lila, Chloe and Alya could help Marinette become more confident in herself and I feel like it would be very interesting if Alya's parents were against her dream of becoming a filmmaker because they're afraid she's gonna starve if she follows that path, then Marinette and Chloe come into the picture to convince Alya to not give up on her dream. Lastly I feel like Marinette and Lila could relate to eachother since both of them are biracial, Marinette being chinese-french and Lila being korean-italian. That could open the door to a bonding moment between the two of them, Lila would open up about never feeling fully accepted by Koreans or Italians and Marinette would tell her how even tho she's proud of her chinese heritage she barely knows her culture or the language and how she always feels like a stranger when she's with her mother's family. It would be pretty no seeing them go from rivals to friends.

But if you think about it, it also correlates with her trying to piece together Ladybug's identity before, and she'll see that isn't fair to expose someone else's identity if you're also trying to hide your own identity.

I really like what you did with Alya, her redesign really does remind me of Clawdeen. Fun fact: did you know in the live-action remake, Clawdeen actually also has curly hair and glasses like your Alya redesign? Funny coincidence! I can actually imagine your version of Alya being more an introvert honestly, with how she would prefer making videos and blogs and stuff over going to social events and parties. Would make her kind of an outcast to Chloé because she would believe that Alya doesn’t want to go because she thinks her parties are bad and not good enough for her (because she tends to have quite a fragile ego in the show) but really it’s just because parties aren’t her thing. I also like the investigative journalist approach with Alya. It goes to show that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero. Granted, others like Marinette have shown to be able to be a hero without a costume or superpowers, but someone who doesn’t have access to powers at all yet still have a double life? As much as I like Rena Rouge, I also like the approach you took for her to have more of a role besides being Marinette’s best friend. Also, I love the idea of doing a series with Winx Club and Stardew Valley. Winx Club is like my childhood show, and Stardew Valley is like my comfort video game.

I also think making Marinette & Alya be friends before Origins would be a good idea, & having Alya be less condoning of Marinette's stalker tendencies, though it would be best to take that out altogether. It would erase the toxicity of their friendship, & set a better example for how friendship should be. Great video! Edit: Wouldn't it be adorable to have a spin-off episode, probably around the episode "Glaciator" (where Alya and Nino are confirmed), and just recap it all from the perspective of Alya? Starting from Origins and going all the way to Glaciator, and showing the development between Alya and Nino. Like, their dates getting interrupted by villain attacks, and explaining little jokes they have, things the audience has seen in parts they're on-screen together, but never really understood. It could give more insight into their relationship, and really exemplify the more down-to-earth, realistic side of being with someone. It could also stand as the typical recap episode, summarizing major story beats without being annoying about it while also adding depth to some of the supporting cast. Did any of that make sense? Probably not, but whatever.

Season 4 is over the top with this, showing episodes where character grow is possible only by giving them miraculous. Your Alya redesing looks so cool. okay so i just binge-watched all of the MLB redraw/rewrites so far and I have a few things to note: -Your writing is phenomenal. The way you've reworked the show and the story is so incredibly compelling that if I had the income I would pay a ridiculous amount of money to get a reboot, as you suggested in a previous redesign vid. Albiet as much as I could wish it was this good from the get-go. the re-written idea wouldn't be as flourishing had there not been the original to work off of, but we're all stupidly invested in the show anyway BECAUSE of it's concept regardless of it's garbage execution, i guess... -Your redesigns live up to the same compliment; Though really, as "show not tell" is literally the most common piece of advice in writing, you'd think what you've come up with would have been the base-level standards the artists would strive for when they created the characters. As much as we push the ""don't judge a book by it's cover" mentality, the design of a character is quite literally supposed to be indicative OF THEIR CHARACTER. It's the first (and one of the most important) piece of characterization that the audiecnce and other characters in-canon are introduced to, even if their imperssion changes over time as they get to know the character. (My favorite example of this is your Adrien's redesign. I stopped the video and gaped at it for a good 10 minutes I was so in love.) Your point about the limitations of having the show animated in 3D (having to animate every piece of... everything) makes a point against this of course, but to be completley honest (and I've thought this for awhile) I think it should have stayed a 2D animated show. Scrapping the anime-esque style is fine to appeal to western audiences, and any form of animation still has it's challenges, but 2D allows for certain liberties that the crew seem to /chronically/ struggle with in 3D,,,, (I'm pretty sure MLB has had like.... what, 5 different studios to animate it? and you can differenciate them easily, some are VERY strikingly different from one another /neg)

It was such a fun comic and I am sure that your take on their Guardian outfit will be phenomenal. I LOVE this redesign of Alya so much. Especially the hair! I'm black and usually when I see a character that is black or looks like they are supposed to be black, and they don't have the natural curly hair, it makes me kind of sad. I know some black women straighten their hair but in cartoon shows, most of the time the hair looks straight. Except for Steven Universe, they keep the natural hair. Seeing this redesign and rewrite for one of my favorite characters makes me happy and very inspired. Thank you Callimara!

A few thoughts: First off, the main reason I don't blame Marinette for her stalker behavior, and why I don't blame Alya for encouraging it is because I blame the writers. They clearly do not know how to portray a healthy teenage crush. Second of all, I love your rewrite and Alya looks gorgeous. It reminded me of the fact that I almost have a crush on fanon Alya. No, seriously, I can't get over how beautiful she is, and for the first time drawing tight curls, you were amazing at it. Alya is one of the most interesting looking characters in Miraculous in my opinion (one of the others being Marc). Third of all: "How do you know she's not the main character? Because she's in a loving, stable relationship." I cracked up at that, and had to pause the video to tell my sister. It's funny because it's true.

Ok I know they might not be the next character getting redesigned, Gabriel's secretary Nathalie Sancoeur being probably next, but I really, really want to see your take on Lê Chiê'n Kim. He has one of my absolute favorite villain outfits, even if the power could definety get tweaked on. His super hero persona as King Monkey on the other hand just and only felt dissapointing. Also I just really like him for no reason particularly. (also from the little french I can speak, I find it weird how his official name seems to be "the dog Kim")

Another plus side of this whole “Hawkmoth granting people the power they need to further their own agendas thing” is that it could form an interesting dialogue about how desperate people sometimes have to turn to the “dark side” for the sake of self preservation, and how the hardships that people face are so much deeper and more ambiguous than just taking down the bad guy. For example, a recurring antagonist that uses the power Hawkmoth grants him to steal the money his family needs to survive. Ladybug could learn that the best way to help this person is to support him and find some way to help him in a more substantial way than just de-akumatizing him. It could form the overarching message that the fight against evil is about unity and helping those in need to create a stronger community, and that’s what it truly means to be a hero. This could also be how Ladybug starts to combat the anti-ladybug movement.
