It looks like Cugir Arms used Romanian Pm 65 parts kits on a newer receiver. The Pm 63 was the fixed stock version and the Pm 65 the under-folder version. They imported these rifles that used a single stack 10 round magazine well. One of the import laws we have. Century Arms mills out the mag well to accept standard double stack 30 round mags once they are in the U.S. I'm not 100% sure if the barrel is original though. In 2005 parts kits had to have the barrels cut up to be legally imported. The folding stock looks like an older model probably mid to late 60s but that's a guess just by looking at what I can see on the video. The original military receivers had the dimples like most AKM & AK-74 rifles. Not bad AKMs and like you mentioned some were better than others. I would say if it functions good and it's accurate keep it. Maybe others can add to this information.

Glad to help. Wikipedia has a lot of info on different models that were produced over the years as well as rifle specs. Also different wars that these rifles were used in. The history of AKs is fascinating.

Yep, made in the cujir factory in Romania and imported by CAI (century Arms International). It's a good little rifle. Not the best quality, but a lot better than most of the US built ones (even using sourced parts). It's often (incorrectly) called a wasr. It should outlast you, unless you dump like 15k through it and then you'd need to replace the barrel.

You have a early 2000 Century arms WASR 10/63 underfolder. Cugiar is the factory in Romania that builds and imports those weapons into the USA via century arms. Your weapon started as a full weapon but was demilled and sent to the USA where it was given a new American barrell and receiver to comply with 922 R regulations. Now that new samples have been given to the ATF the WASRs imported into the USA now are in complete form but have a 10 round mag well that century mills out to accept a 30 round. My advise is to go back to old school and get the original wood gas tube wood and lower hand guard.

Hey 50...... I agree with metaltrooper62s comments. Century also imports a WASR 3 which is a 5.56x45 variant of the 7.62x39 model which you have. I retired from the military in 1994 which was before the WASR name was used (I think). We just knew them as 47s or 74s. I still prefer the M16 over any of the AK styles.

these guys in the comments are very knowledgeable! the rifle looks straight, rivets look good to me, looks to be a great gun. im a sucker for underfolders. my first ak was a yugo underfolder m70ab2. i like side folders and weirdos too. i used to have an amd-65 from tgi. of course i want a spiker like everyone else. my only ak right now is a converted saiga that i bastardized with the rifle dynamics m4 stock adapter, and a magpul pistol grip. its also got an epsilon ak brake on it right now but i plan to shorten the barrel and put that rifle dynamics front sight/gas block combo and a traditional handguard on. keeping mine strictly irons for now because its fun to run and gun and im on a budget. too many projects started without completion
