I miss my birds too. I just had Lovebirds but they sure were special. My girl bonded with me & her husband bonded with her!!! But they truly were best pets ive eve had. Love my dog, but bird relationship was most special. Sorta inherited the birds and in past thought bird people were crazy! Such wonderful pet.

@@splinky730 I had a blue crown conure for 31 years. We got to see her hatch. As a kid it was such a special thing to experience. I thought it was super gross at 12 years old. She bonded with me, even though she was a family pet. When everyone grew up and got our own places, I got the bird. I just recently lost my dog too. A Mini dachshund she was 13. very sad. Coyote attack.

Man,I’ve been through tough times too: I can’t remember what type she was, but I had a Conure called Sprite.I was so excited about getting her because she was hand-tamed and was very friendly.The next morning after getting her I played with her for a bit then put her away to get ready for school. It was basically the same routine for about 3 days in a row. Then one night I was eating with my family at dinner then my brother got up and said: “I’m finished,I’m going to go play with Sprite.” Reluctantly, I said: “Sure.Be careful with her.” A couple minutes later, my brother came out from my room. “Hey Mum,Sprite is acting weird.” He said. Mum sat up and rushed into my room, closely followed by me.There was my beautiful Sprite,lying on my bed with her legs in the air. She was flailing about, trying not to move her neck. Mum looked up, her face full of tears. “What happened?” She asked. My brother said this: “She flew into the window and hit her he-“ I didn’t even hear the rest of his sentence.I began to cry and ran outside, yelling “Why?Why does she have to go?” Later on we buried her.She was a great bird,and even though I only had her for 4 days, I felt like we were sisters during her time when she was alive.

@@Imlosep i was lucky to get my bird as a just weaned baby. first thing i taught him was what mirrors and glass were. He picked it up pretty quick and only hit those a few times, usually when a hawk landed right outside the window, which is his fav place to sit. He has never hit his head either, only his wings or front since he realizes at the last second
