Fun fact: Principality of Prussia become independent not beacuse Prussia defeated Poland, but beacuse polish king Jan Kazimierz Waza was in dire situation during the Swedish Deluge, and to secure help from Prussian Principality, he promised to give them independence if they will help kick out the Sweden.

History of Prussia is basically one big luck streak until WWI and WWII. 1. Teutonic Knights invited to Prussia by Polish prince because Poland was too fragmented at that time for his province to beat Prussians. 2. Teutonic Knights took cash from Polish prince to defend Gdansk/Danzig from Brandenburg but they never returned it. 3. Teutonic Knights having Pope on their side in almost every dispute despite violating treaties multiple times. 4. Teutonic Knights losing battle in 1410 but enough for them to give away any territory. 5. Teutonic Knights are allowed to stay in Prussia even though Bona Sforza wanted them to be eliminated, dismantled and Prussia annexed. 6. Brandenburg Hohenzollerns take Prussia joining the two provinces greatly strengthening Prussia. 6. Prussians don't have to be loyal to Poland anymore because Poland is exhausted by multiple wars with Sweden and Ottomans. 7. Protestants win 30 year war because France betrayed Catholics, this gives Prussia upper hand among German states. 8. Prussians greatly supported by Protestant England, Sweden Netherlands etc. basically given free millitary tech. 9. Frederic the Great lost almost every battle so far and gained nothing but thanks to internal Polish weakness he feasts on its corpse with Russia and Austria, boosting Prussia from not that important state to a player. 10. Austria (it's only real German competitor) gets obliterated by Napoleon and is not a great power anymore, despite being called one. 11. Prussia given valuable land in Rheine full of modern industry. 12. Prussia takes advantage of weak Austria and French (yet again) incompetence and conquers remaining German states. So far each one of those successes was allowed thanks to some external event. For example there would be no Prussia if Teutonic Knights would never be allowed to Prussia or if they would be eradicated as Bona Sforza wished or if France would shown signs of functioning brain at least once in its existence and supported Catholics instead of Protestants, or if Poland would reform itself or if Napoleon wouldn't obliterate Austria turning it into a shell of an empire. After reunification we get a streak mistakes: 1. Prussia brainwashing Germans into thinking they are superior beings 2. Prussia thinking they can take down France same way they did in 1871 3. Prussian pride infected Germans thinking they got a harsh treatment although they didn't 4. Prussian elite allowing Hitler getting power and starting WWII

16:40 Specifically, a young British Colonial officer led a squad of troops and Indians on a patrol to search for French troops in their territory; they found some and captured them but the officer lost control of his natives who proceeded to execute the French prisoners, kicking off the French and Indian War and then the Seven Years War. And that young officer's name was George Washington.
