Yeah, they are only good when you're good with them, but a good sniper can completely warp the game. Fastest time to kill, infinite range. You barely show yourself in a lane that a sniper is holding and you're dead instantly. It can also make balance harder because it could be that certain sides on certain maps, snipers absolutely dominate, giving a huge advantage to teams that start on that side on that map. The fact that snipers are hard to use is actually a potential reason for banning them, because the pool of good snipers is smaller, and you could get into situations where teams can't compete if they don't have a good sniper on their team. I don't have an opinion on whether or not they should be banned, but I just wanted to give some counterarguments to the idea that snipers are hard to use and therefore should not be banned.
