Scary, but good game Cougs! Greg Wrubell’s voice and energy is iconic for BYU football. Should’ve turned on BYU radio while I watched the game instead of listening to the ESPN announcers.

Imagine Utah somehow returned it for a TD and it got called back for this. Who would they blame then??

Slow it down and you can see the official looking toward the sideline and reaching for his flag.

Yea! But I would like a better camera view. On field perspective does not really show us the play very well.

Why didn't the game clock start at the last kickoff once the Utes had possession of the ball to begin their little lateralfest? It didn't start until the ball was on the ground and one of the Cougars jumped on it. Anyone else notice this? Such a bizarre last few minutes of this game. I'm glad BYU won, but you didn't do it very convincingly. Worst play I've seen all season to date. Y'all gonna have to step it up and focus against Kansas at home or they may lose their first game of this season.

Cougs won this despite ARod doing his best to lose it for us. Worst OC in the country.

No, that would be Nathaniel Hackett

Yeah, what he did against OkSt was terrible, and awful play calling on the last drive to get into a winning position. We're 9-0 because we have the worst OC in the country and scored at least 34 points in every game but two this season.

I am happy to see the rivalry is still alive. I agree with both coaches that they need each other. Congradulations to the Cougars for winning a close game. These 2 teams appear to me to be evenly matched. The numerous variables in the game of football create unpredictability and that is what makes it interesting. Over the course of the season, BYU has been consistent and successful in coming from behind and winninng close games. But their 9-0 record obsfucates how close they came again to losing to some mediocre teams. Let's get real. These cougars are not a top 5 team. They won the Utah game by a long last minute field goal preceded by controversial calls and allowed 3 touchdowns in one quarter. This against a team that is 1-5 in their conference. Already, I hear BIG TALK about a national champoinship. Some think that being at the top of the Big 12 entitles them to an inside lane. They might notice Florida last year went 12-0, and did not get into the top 4. In the orange bowl, Florida played another team, almost undefeated Georgia. Many thought Georgia was #1 until they lost by inches to Alabama. Georgia did not make the top 4. either. Florida lost 63-3 to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, partly because some of the team found excuses to not show up. Florida had to beat Georgia either way and then beat Michigan, who spanked everybody, to get to #1. Some variation of this story happens several times at the end of every year. It is not really the Big 12 anymore. It is the medium 12 after their 2 best teams left and they are not at the top either. They left a conference because winning it was not the path to the top. The Cougars are not going to find it any different. I want this BYU team to finish the season with satisfaction and gratitude for a really great performance. That includes beating Utah (barely), hopefully winning the medium 12, playing in a good bowl game, and do it with classic sportsmanship. It is very unlikely they will beat any 2 of the 8 teams currently ranked above them. They should not feel persecuted and cheated out of something that was a far reach at best. (Like Utah losing to BYU by 1 point at the very end).

That’s why I am glad there is a 12 team playoff this year.
