Sort of related and hopefully helpful, but I had to take a U.S. politics class in college around 2018, and having to really read and digest everything that was going on was doing a number on my mental health. After it was done I pretty much stopped engaging in politics online. I unfollowed lots of accounts and uninstalled social media apps that seemed to recommend me political content non-stop (Reddit primarily. And good lord stay off of Facebook). I only poke my head out for like a week every two years so I can make an informed vote. I would recommend doing the same to anyone who is feeling overwhelmed. It was very helpful for me. Also I'm probably not that much older than most of my audience, but for those who a bit younger and experiencing their first election cycle, you'll get through to the other side, and day to day life will return to normal very quickly. And of course- stay in close contact with friends and family who are a positive influence. Reach out to those who you know are feeling particularly impacted. Play some online games or text or call or whatever. I actually started a Drawpile server with some friends of mine this morning and that's been good. Anyway that's a lot of text. I hope you and your friends start to feel better over the next few days and weeks!!!

This playlist is good for just relaxing in general, regardless of context. The only stress I had from the election was actually submitting my mail-in ballot on time. I don’t watch the news anyways, so I wasn’t too concerned with any of the results. But, sometimes life and college can stress us out, and this is good relaxing music for those times. Or if you just want to take a nap.
