They can't move because of the heat? It's not been hot for the past 9 months, they could have moved then. Look at the trash, they always trash the environment. The man talking about his cats, shame he didn't put that much energy into keeping his teeth, bathe, shave, live in a clean environment. No wonder they are moved out, it's not because they are homeless but because they are filthy.

Actually, these homeless can go to the shelter. They usually get kicked out because they can’t abide by the rules and regulation to mitigate the liabilities. My idea is to separate the homeless into three categories. One group is homeless with drug and mental problems. Place these people as far away as possible into a single location where they can be given the freedom to do whatever they feel like. Like setting up a tent, buy drugs and free access to medical/mental help. The second group will be people who can abide by the rules at a shelter. The third group is someone who just landed on the hard times and really only needs a short term assistant to get back on their feet with job training, job referrals and a section 8 to live close to the general population.

There shouldn't be any rules that have these people getting kicked out. They're not model citizens, so thinking they're going to abide by rules of a model citizen is just foolish. Secondly, this problem is completely government created. Every major city and town had SROs. These were small hotels that had rooms, a little smaller than a prison cell, with a shared bathroom on each floor. There were located usually in the "seedy" parts of the city. In Chicago we had several. Look up New Jackson Hotel, Ewing Annex Hotel, and Hotel Tokyo. All now closed. Rent was about $25 a week. They don't need a hotel room with their own bathroom and kitchen. That's completely unnecessary. But if the city refuses to allow such places in favor of yet another luxury condo, the result is you'll have homeless all over the street. The homeless services are located in the city, but you don't want to house the city's homeless because you just have to have build another luxury condo, this is the result.

All too many refuse the available help and others who enter shelter and treatment programs wind up getting kicked out of them due to misbehavior.

@leetjohnson we currently survive in nature the same way we always have, by working together. But that doesn't answer the question, how would making the state of "being unhoused" illegal end homelessness? If the idea is the threat will cause fear and thus people will attempt to avoid loosing their house, I hate to break it to everyone that those kinds of threats have never worked on a psychological level because the idea of living on the streets is already scary in and of itself. Making it illegal does not increase the threat or fear level. It also doesn't address any problem for why people are becoming homeless to begin with.

I made it thru homeless 2x even being arrested for trespassing because I would not go to a shelter(COVID-19) because I had everything on a gorilla cart in triple stacked bins strapped down organized. I would pack up every day usually by 8am. Put in storage, then work to get housing. Don't get me wrong I could not do it alone so I am living with Mom at 41 but apartments are expensive. It should read " City officials are mismanaging Taxed monies when it comes to Homeless Americans." How many night shelters for homeless Americans in the city? Night shelters is less tents. Public Restrooms is less shit on the streets. A dedicated park for homeless Americans ! (Dogs have their parks)

This problem is completely government created.
