British singer Calum Scott competed in 2015 season of "Britain's Got Talent", and came in 6th. The song you mentioned "Dancin on My Own" was a top selling hit for him from that show. The current song, written by producer Fraser T. Smith, was debuted in 2017 by Calum as a solo, and in early 2018, as a duet with fellow British singer Leona Lewis. One of my favorites and loved your reaction.

Love this song by Calum. You may not know this, but PTX did a version of Dancing on My Own. It was after Avi left the band and before Matt joined. It is beautiful as well. Thanks again for bringing this wonderful music to us.

"You Are The Reason" is from Calum's 2016 original debut album "Only Human" which is absolutely fantastic. You probably heard this song on the radio because it reached platinum status in the U.S. You should also react to "No Matter What" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXOsmaSEiZqaqac )which was included on the special edition version of Only Human in 2018. Calum had this to say about the new song when it was released: “‘No Matter What’ is without question the most personal song I have ever written and the one I am most proud of,” Calum explains. “It’s a song born from loneliness, acceptance and the heartbreaking but liberating tale of my coming out experience. What I love about this song is that it isn’t just limited to a story of sexual identity, but about the relationship between parent and child and acceptance as a whole. I can't believe I missed the notification for this; I adore Calum & I almost suggested him to you when I commented on a Brian Justin Crum reaction. Calum is from England and was a Human Resources representative when his sister, Jade, suggested they both try out for Britain's Got Talent in 2015. Jade auditioned first and didn't make it through and Simon Cowell wasn't very nice to her. She left the stage in tears & Calum had only a few seconds to hug her before he had to go on stage to sing. He was obviously nervous, upset & angry but he sang his version of Dancing On My Own & ended up getting Simon's golden buzzer. He almost didn't go through with the competition since his sister was the only reason he was there but she supported him. He ended up being signed by Capitol Records. His album Only Human is fantastic; there isn't a song on it that I don't love. Every song but one is written or co-written by Calum including You Are The Reason. He is a pure natural talent - never had a voice lesson. I've personally met him and he is the most genuinely humble, sweet human being you could ever meet. I suggest you try No Matter What which he wrote as his coming out story, the song & video are extremely powerful.

Because I never knew how my father saved my life when I honestly was at death's door after my HIV diagnosis back in early 2003 until 2 years ago - I sadly did not have any contact with him for the last 15 years of his life & found out when I was diagnosed with cancer on April 30th, 2019 that he had passed away exactly 9 months prior on July 30th, 2018 and was never told of his passing - I can not listen to the lyrics without crying as I truly now love my dad & have finally had proof that my dad did love me ... those lyrics "If I could turn back the clock; I'd make sure the light defeated the dark; I'd spend every hour of every day keeping you safe" hits my soul and I truly would climb every mountain & swim every ocean just to be with him & fix what I had broken!! Thank you Travis for your reaction to my favorite Calum Scott song & if you have not, I strongly suggest you watch his audition at BGT, when he had to perform directly after hearing his younger sister, Jade, get 4 "NOs" for the judges, including a very harsh critique from Simon!
