I wish this was still the same Calvin. He HAD so much promise. Too bad he got to big and the rest is history. But this is amazing. He was so amazing. He had skills. He had so much life to his music. We are so lucky, at least those that can understand and vibe to his music. These days, its hard to find something worth listening to, something to vibe to, something to feel. I think he looks pretty nice in this period of his career. Nowadays he is like a printed guy, a typical man, beard, muscles, and yes, he is a model, but man, his old look with black long hair, a simplicity in style really made him look British and Scottish and somehow different than the main stream artists. I am glad he is having so much success and a great career, but i must admit that the old days were nice too. And the most important difference is the music he does now. May be good, but it is commercial music, and this one is, but the old ones have some touch of funkines, of spark.

definitely agree. i was a huge fan in 2009-10, his first and second album. i still go back to those records often, his style, influences, voice back then were a really fun combination. rough around the edges, but i loved that about calvin harris. like you said, its wonderful the success he has had. but i miss the spirit of his old music. i cant be the only one who thought his 'fly eye' glasses aesthetic was great, reminded me of the pet shop boys

To be honest, if Calvin kept up with this now dated electropop-Nudisco sound, he would’ve sounded tired and be out of a record deal like Cobra Starship, HyperCrush or Space Cowboy from that era. Adapt. His musical philosophy reminds me of the company Apple. He never keeps the same products. He will just rip something entirely up, remove certain elements you love and switch to a new mode, for better and for worse.
