If Calvin was a minister in my local C of E church I would attend but I have been outside the walls with Jesus for years now because the C of E Church is lukewarm at best and has fallen away from teachng the true Gospel message for fear of offence . I don't want a social club, I want to hear the tuth from the word of God.

BTW if it’s any consolation I know of several great young men in Ireland who def had a calling to the Priesthood & when they entered the seminary they were politely asked to leave because they were TOO conservative & TOO religious!! The Free Church of England is not actually a "new" church - it separated from the mainstream Church of England in 1844, & is now also a part of the worldwide Anglican group of churches known as "GAFCON". It is a much more orthodox & traditional branch of the Anglican church, than the mainstream Church of England. The particular Free Church of England parish church of Christ Church Harlesden, where Calvin was ordained, is not actually a "new" parish church either - it has existed for some time. It is the church where Calvin will serve his curacy as an ordained deacon of the church, before being ordained as a fully-fledged priest of the church, in around 12 months time.

I've always found something very strange about the claims of institutional racism in Britain. In countries that many years ago, were permanently colonised by the British &/or other European countries, any non-European indigenous people of those colonised countries, have in more recent years, been acknowledged & given special rights & privileges (eg the native American indians in the USA & Canada, the Maoris in New Zealand, aboriginals in Australia, & the native people in South Africa) to make up for the relatively poor treatment they may have been given by colonisers in times past. But when it comes to the British Isles - it is the Anglo-Saxons, Normans, & Celts who are the indigenous people of that nation - & they "allowed" people of other races/ethnicities/nations to migrate there & live in their country. Yet now many of those same people who migrated there, as well as the indigenous people themselves, are claiming that the indigenous people of Britain are racist towards the non-indigenous of Britain. Surely if the indigenous people of Britain were institutionally racist, they would never have allowed people of other races/ethnicities & from other countries, to migrate to Britain in the first place? And why should the indigenous people of Britain want to punish themselves for being racist against those of other ethnicities whom they have allowed into their country? In most other countries it is the indigenous people who are being given special treatment by the colonisers to make up for the past poor treatment they may have received. Yet in their own country, the British still want to punish themselves for racism towards other ethnicities whom they have allowed to live in their country? It just does not make sense. Based on what has happened with the indigenous people in other colonised countries - perhaps it is the non-indigenous migrants to Britain who need to be giving special rights & privileges to the indigenous British people. It seems that either way - whether abroad in countries they have colonised, or even in their own home/indigenous country - the British cannot win & will not allow themselves to win. They must always be the "losers", according to the "woke" generation. As I said, none of this "institutional racism" nonsense in Britain, makes any sense. In any case, these days, under the law in Britain, everyone is entitled to be treated equally & have equal opportunity - regardless of their race/nationality or religion. And it has been like that for quite some time now. I think it's time everyone started to look forward & not backwards. It's time Britain stopped wanting to punish itself for so-called "institutional racism" - when the majority of present day indigenous British people are probably not even racist at all.

Are you saying all whites are not racist? You are not a person of colour so you can't speak on our behalf because you don't live it. I was raised in a predominantly white area from the age of 6 and faced racism from the so-called indigenous people. And yet again I have met wonderful white people that don't think like white supremacist and see clearly what POC are saying whilst obvious avoid eye contact with their own sin.

I never heard the Lord or any disciples or Apostles ever say you needed to be ordained, only repentance and baptism, also that we have no need of anyone teaching us, that The Helper would teach us all things (The Holy Spirit) and this fellow is anointed by Our Lord without doubt, regardless of being "ordained" or not, however I also always respect a man of the cloth who does the Lord's work, full time, is something to thankful for as well as respected...

I'd probably disagree with a fair bit of Calvin's position but if he was recommended for priestly ordination and then denied that at the last minute just because it had been hoped his training would change his worldview and (surprise) it didn't then that is terrible. The church into which Calvin was eventually ordained as a deacon, is not the mainstream/established Church of England - it is a branch of the Anglican church called the Free Church of England, which separated from the established Church of England, back in 1844, & is not a member of the the official Anglican Communion. In recent times though, the Free Church of England did join the GAFCON movement, which is a global group of Anglican churches with much more orthodox & traditional Anglican beliefs. Because the Free Church of England is not a part of the Anglican Communion, the Archbishop of Canterbury is not his "boss". In fact, it was in part due to Justin Welby, that the mainstream Church of England refused to ordain Calvin as a deacon. So Calvin was eventually ordained by the Free Church of England at their parish church of Christ Church, Harlesden, in London.

Nevertheless - Calvin's ordination (as a deacon) in the Free Church of England is still recognised as valid by the established Church of England, even though the Free Church of England is not a member of the official Anglican Communion. When he is eventually ordained as a fully-fledged priest, that ordination into holy orders will also be recognised as valid by the established Church of England. And judging by the number of favourable comments here about Calvin's ordination, I would say that many GB viewers are not sick of listening to his story - in fact, if interviewers keep asking him about it - why should he not continue to tell his story?
