It’s an absolute pipe dream, but my ultimate Bond game would be a quasi-RPG with a loose, branching mission structure based around a variety of classic Bond plots from the films and Fleming. The MI6 HQ and Bond’s Chelsea flat as a base between missions; a Bond customisable with different classic suits, tuxedos, and other outfits; upgradable gadgets and cars with driving levels; gambling and card games available at Blades (with a mission to stop Drax cheating, naturally)…perfection!

With the GBA link connected to the Gamecube version, the GBA would show you "hints" in the form of screenshots of where Bond Moments were hidden in a nearby area. That's the extent of it. I worked on EoN and the designers were adamant that we couldn't lock any gadgets or perks behind that GBA link feature. No "pay to win" allowed. Sadly, future games didn't keep that philosophy.

Hilarious video as always - your comedy skits are awesome! Everything or Nothing is still my all time favorite James Bond video game - But I have never had any of the handheld systems so have never played - or even seen - most of these games you are showcasing for us. But as clunky as this looks - I guess it really doesn’t seem too bad at all! But for me - the problem is that that screen still looks so small and blurry - there is no question it would most certainly give me a major headache as I played! Meanwhile, as we all wait for that highly anticipated announced next gen Bond game - I would love to see something simple like this that we could just play on our Phones. (After all - they are now much bigger than these handheld systems) I just happened to search on my IPhone and there is absolutely nothing except some terrible cheap Spy game imitations. Seems like a big waste - I bet there would be a nice audience for one. Just another example how they really are neglecting younger Bond fans!

I played EON's multiplayer on the gba not officially of course but via an emulator and it was fine there were only a few game modes and you played pallet swaps of bond tho they aren't referred to as Bond they are referred to as agents each of these agents you could pick colors for each agent/player that was available there were also I think 5 or 3 maps a buddy of mine gave it a go on an emulator and it was a distracting decent fun time waster tho it does feel tacked on considering its lack of content but there you go, Calvin, a full insight of gba eon multiplayer stay classy dude

Wow, I actually do remember playing this game quite a bit on my Gameboy Advance on long plane trips to and from China. Also, I actually do prefer the more over the top and almost Sci-Fi Bonds for video games, simply because they add a lot of variety to the gameplay. I did enjoy Goldeneye Reloaded and Blood Stone a lot, but the problem is both games were made in the pre-Skyfall Craig era, and therefore lacked the gadgets for the driving and shooting sections which made the gameplay in the EA Bond games more fun.

The sad part about all this science fiction stuff is that if they wanted to put Bond into space they could have done it in a more realistic sense. The Soviet Almaz space stations were literally manned satellite reconnaissance missions and were equipped with anti-satellite cannons. The USAF had something similar planned with their cancelled Manned Orbiting Laboratory program, ironically one of the spacesuits from that program was name tagged "007".

I had this on PS2. From my memory, it was one of the best. It also had a great co-op mode that my friends and I loved to play through
@MrTBoneSF3 жыл бұрын
Based on the server numbers, you are in very rare company playing the co-op. I'm really glad you liked it, but that PS2-only co-op mode was the reason the game missed the critical Christmas season. Marketing insisted at the last minute we add it (and only on the PS2- which made no sense because of how few people had the broadband adapter) because they said the game wouldn't be competitive with STARCRAFT GHOST- which marketing had "inside info" would ship soon. Of course, every engineer knew Starcraft Ghost was nowhere near ship (and in fact, never shipped) but marketing wouldn't hear any of it. So we had three months of extra crunch tacked onto the schedule (myself and others were working on Thanksgiving day) to add co-op. And what did marketing do when the game's sales were lower than projected (because we missed Christmas)? Blamed it on the dev team for being "late" even though we were on track to ship until they insisted during final beta we add co-op. The funny part was, literally nine months earlier we asked if maybe we should add multiplayer because Xbox Live was taking off. Marketing said "online isn't gong to be a big deal for years". To add insult to injury, the day EoN released, marketing decided to announce "Coming Soon: Goldeneye 2". Then they wondered why sales for EoN were lower than expected? EA's own marketing essentially said "Don't buy this game. The REAL Bond game you've been waiting for is coming soon". So many people did save their money- only to be waiting until Christmas for a generic shooter that had nothing to do with GoldenEye and didn't even star Bond. Yep. EA marketing sucked (it may still, I don't work there anymore).

Looks like a cross between Metal Gear Solid GBC (minus all the neat Easter Eggs Kojima LOVED to throw in) and Spy-Hunter (classic Midway game). I like. I wouldn't mind finding a GBA version of this (or Nightfire tbh). Speaking of Metal Gear and Spy Hunter, ever think of looking at Bond inspired video games like you do movies? Not just those two (MGS 3: Snake Eater has the most James Bond influence). But there is also Perfect Dark (spiritual successor to Goldeneye by Rare), The Operative: No One Lives Forever, Hitman, and Splinter Cell.

My Bond entertainment of choice on long car journeys back in the day was listening to the Best of Bond… James Bond album on my MP3 player (the version that ended with a rather naff cover of the Bond theme by John Arnold). I blame my repeated listening of that album on car trips for the fact that all the Bond theme lyrics are now etched into my brain - maybe if I’d kept that space free for more important information I would’ve done better in my A-Levels. But hey, if there’s ever a blindfold-karaoke night I’m set! While I never had a GBA, I did have a DS, and for whatever reason I never played the Nintendo DS Bond games. I suppose I didn’t want to waste my allowance when there were other games I wanted to play more. Maybe I might go back and check them out while we wait for Project 007.

Funnily enough, I also had very little experience with Bond on the DS during that whole era.
