Connery had two conditions to go back and provide Bond's voice for EA: 1) He got paid $1m 2) He got to pick the film to remake He chose FRWL. EA execs were a little flummoxed during the first few meetings we had. It would have been a totally different game with another Bond had it not worked out with Connery. But that's another story.

Calvin I think there’s a mistake, James Bond: World of Espionage, the 2015 mobile game was not your number 1. This is outrageous. I mean the gameplay is revolutionary, the characters are so in-depth they feel ripped straight out of a Bond movie, and the story is so gripping Eon are bound to use it for a film. Don't know if you've played the *007 Gameboy RPG* yet, Calvin. But it sounds like it very well could've ended on as no. 11 or even no. 10 on this list! That game is very interesting for being one of the _only two_ 007 games that were licensed by Nintendo back in the day, before EA got the license. (Ninty's other being Goldeneye the year prior.) The game's genre not mainly being a shooter is also interesting, and unique from what the 007 license later developed into. The whole mainly-not-a-shooter thing also reminds me of that rumored TellTale "non mass murder" Bond adventure that never materialized. Maybe the IOI's Project 007 will finally fill that espionage itch - fertile ground for the 007 games to explore.

@@calvindyson There's also the Goldeneye 64 modding community if you want an experience that feels like official Bond games. I know some of the members have gone as far as recreating Goldfinger and Tomorrow Never Dies entirely using the Goldeneye engine and assets and are currently working on a re-creation of The Spy Who Loved Me. The coolest part is that they've sold these creations on official N64 cartridges that you can actually play on an N64 console, otherwise they're all entirely free online if you're knowledgeable in emulating and ROM hacks.

My ranking of the ones I’ve played goes like this, from best to worst: • Nightfire • GoldenEye N64 (only takes #2 because I feel it hasn’t aged as well as Nightfire, but it’s still a great one to pick up and play. Plus it has DK mode. If that remaster we’ve heard rumours about gets released and takes the creaky edges off the N64 version, well I might have to amend this list…) • GoldenEye Wii (I admit the reason it’s this high is mostly from nostalgia - it’s the thing that got me into Bond, and I have lots of fun memories of the multiplayer with friends. If I was being more objective it’d probably be a few spots lower cause it really is a bit too COD-derivative) • Agent Under Fire • TWINE N64 • Everything or Nothing • From Russia With Love • GoldenEye DS • James Bond 007 (GB) • GoldenEye Rogue Agent DS (takes the higher spot over the console version cause the levels feel less of a slog in the DS version, even if the console version is the better crafted game from a technical standpoint) • GoldenEye Rogue Agent • 007 Legends (only finished the Goldfinger level, didn’t have it in me to go any further)

My oldest brother owned "Nightfire" on the Gamecube and I absolutely loved the game back when I was a teenager. The only Bond games I've played were Nightfire and Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. I liked the latter, but "Nightfire" was so much better in gameplay, story, multiplayer, characters and the gadgets, I've played the campaign mode several times and the multiplayer mode has ton of replay value. Even my 2nd oldest and youngest brother loved the game. I'm glad that you liked "Nightfire" as much I did, Calvin. Great video as always 👌🏾

We've been waiting for this, Calvin! My all-time favourite will forever be Everything or Nothing, so many good memories on the Gamecube. What puts it over Nightfire and Agent under Fire is Z-targetting. While I was overjoyed when they announced FRWL it did feel so uch clunkier than EON and eventually was more of a disappointment. Btw: there is a PC version of Nightfire, which is horrible, being robbed of all the driving levels. Just thought you could have mentioned that one.

If I could make a very LIMITED defense of the PC Nightfire version, I do enjoy that some areas of the world get just a little more expansion. The final space setting gets more than just the zero gravity boss fight, and you get to explore parts of the space station with a jump pack. I also feel like Drake's Castle party looks a little more like a place that people would want to gather in the PC version. My last little defense would be that the Q-Glasses work a bit more nicely in the PC. I never found any use for them in the console, but the PC benefits from a few half-baked stealth missions where they come in handy. Still, the lack of driving levels r-e-a-l-l-y sucks. I would agree that the console version is the FAR superior one, but I always wished there could've been a marriage of the better elements of both into one vision.

Excellent video Calvin! Here's my personal ranking of the Bond games I have played: 1. Nightfire, for all the reasons you gave 2. Agent Under Fire, features some of the best vehicle levels ever 3. Goldeneye (N64), a true classic with infinitely replayable multiplayer 4. Everything or Nothing, had trouble adjusting to the controls but is nonetheless an excellent game 5. The World is Not Enough (N64), almost as fun as Goldeneye with some well needed improvements 6. Goldeneye (Wii), mostly nostalgia but had a fun story and multiplayer 7. James Bond (Gameboy), pretty good potential as a Link's Awakening clone but needed some additional polish 8. The World is Not Enough (PS), controls are somewhat clunky and not as good as the N64 version 9. 007 Racing, once again clunky controls 10. Goldeneye Rouge Agent, just fails at being fun

That game was my top #1 Game on Playstation 2 back in early 2013, 2014 and 2015. And not to mention the Multiplayer i remember playing that with my brother all day. I guess i'm lucky that my father bought me a Playstation 2 and James Bond: Nighfire. Thank you Playstation and James Bond: Nightfire for making my childhood a million times better.

I have loads of nostalgia for the 2000's Bond Games. Nightfire, Agent Under Fire & EON in particular are games that I fondly look back on. I love Goldeneye N64 but it hasn't aged well really (And tbh if I want an N64 FPS fix I go for Perfect Dark). Nightfire has always been my top personally. Great story, level design, music & characters. Everything is just stellar with that game

I can’t wait for the new project 007 game, the Hitman games are some of my favourite games of all time and could easily be a bond game with a few tweaks. I’m certain that project 007 will be the best bond game

Controversial but I would love to see a studio try the 007 Racing formula again, but actually with racing. Think Forza Motorsport or Need for Speed and have gadget laden Bond cars to make races even more interesting. You'd probably have to nerf certain types of gadgets and maybe even create some new ones to make it fit into the race-style elements but I think it would be a really interesting concept! Add online and/or local multiplayer and it'd be amazing!

I’d definitely play that if somebody made it. I’m kinda surprised nobody has already. With local multiplayer, everyone driving a gadget-laden car, sounds like it could rival Mario Kart for 4P racing fun.

Goldeneye 64 is one of my faves but I can fully understand why you put it on 6th place, From Russia With Love was a great idea for a game back in the 2000’s and it would have been amazing to have an adaptation of The Spy Who Loved Me or Licence to Kill! Nightfire is also a great game and captures Pierce’s era in a wonderful way with a touch of Connery and Moore! Loved this video Calvin!

It's odd: I am a huge Bond fan and a gamer who still plays a lot of video games even now with slightly over 40. Most of the time I play PC games and my first console was the PS3 (and then PS4). But seemingly many Bond games didn't make it to the PC or got rather bad reviews, because I didn't even hear about many of these. (or quickly forgot about them) The only Bond game I played was Nightfire, the PC version and I honestly can't remember it besides the game sitting in my collection. Don't even know if I played it through, guess not. Looking forward to the new Bond game and hope it will be good. Thanks for the video!

For me it’s Everything or Nothing. Partially because The controls are similar to Splinter Cell. Either way it was cool having an original James Bond story in game form each year from 2001 until 2004. Made my GameCube worth it.

Your top 3 is my top 3 Calvin! Agent under Fire is the one I invested the most time in overall (and the only one I beat through completely and got all the achievements/unlocks), but EoN is the one my best friend and I played though co-op in full the summer after our freshman year of college, and Nightfire is the one I put the most time into online… so they all hold a special place in my nostalgic C-Drive… err… heart. 😎

Loved the PS2 games, they were great. Only got From Russia with love last year😁. Everything or Nothing is probably my favorite. Out of the later ones, bloodstone is fantastic, and GoldenEye on Wii is well made. I have nearly completed a collection of James Bond video games for the consoles I own, (which are many). But should try to pick TWINE on N64. I have it on PS1. Great vid as always. I want to play through these games again.

I think the reason goldeneye is so well loved isn't because it's the best, it's the best when relative to it's time. It's a game that made FPS a console genre as well as PC. It was one of the biggest games of it's time and none of the bond games have managed to do that since, while there have been many good bond games, they never reached the top 5 sellers for their years.

Nightfire was and still is the greatest James Bond game I’ve ever played! I remember back in early 2003 while Die Another Day was still in theaters, I remember when my late brother got me Nightfire for the PS2 and I would play the pre credits mission over and over and over again. I would later get another version of in for GameCube which I still have, the PC version to wish I never got to play that version. later in 2017 for the Xbox for my Xbox 360 console and last Christmas of 2021 for the PS2 again for my PS2 slim. I even remember beating the game first whist No Time To Die was originally going to be released in about 8 weeks at that time. At the start of 2022, I would beat the game again for the PS2. And indeed, I love Nightfire to this day.

I think my list would be pretty similar, but with Agent Under Fire at number 1. I love the pacing of that game. I miss that era when games weren’t all 40+ hours long, but instead incentivized replay-ability with rewards and good level design. Goldeneye has climbed up in my personal rankings thanks to the Mouse and Keyboard mod on PC. Definitely recommend that for any newcomers. Btw, I was hoping you were going to fake us out with Tomorrow never dies as your number 1. Lol.

Having AUF, NF, EON, and FRWL together on a shelf of other games just feels perfect. Gen 6 bond games were the best, and Agent Under Fire, the Quake III Arena 007 conversion mod (Since AUF game runs on IDtech3 and so did Quake III Arena), is like the best bond game to be due to fast frenetic fighting that was carried over from the engine it was built on.
