I’ve seen quite a few Golf R reviews & this has got to be my favorite of the bunch. Great job showing the VW’s quickness. Watching it pull away from the Masi really gave an accurate impression of how crazy this car is. Love that you called it a ‘joke.’ I totally get it!

Great video mate.its the first video of yours i have seen. the only problem with the mk7 golf R that .we need the new one to keep up with the new breed of hot hatches. 300 bhp is ok.would be great with 350 would make it the car. but DSG is a must, I have owned a Golf R mk7 for two years and it is a great car,

Love all your videos mate I don't have a golf r however I do have a mk5 GTI with dsg gear box and it really is an amazing car and great gearbox obviously the power delivery would be way better with 4 wheel drive but I'm only 20 so can't afford one yet ;) keep up the good work mate :)

Im 20 too, but at 1.07.18 i get my mk 7.5 r with everything in. It's possible to afford it, i worked my ass off for this car and it will be an unbelievable day when i get my car from the dealer.

That's a really good question.... I must admit i was almost as impressed with M135 when i drove it. For me i would have a Golf R, i'm a huge Golf fan in general. If you're not a lover of the high seating position and you currently have a 1 series, I'd say the M135i is a bit of a no-brainer for you. Go test drive a Golf R first though to be sure!

Calvin's Car Diary currently have a 2013 118i (1.6 turbo) and considered trading in for an S3, but couldn't justify the price difference, and then drove an M135i and felt the same - used to have the Audi A3 version (3.2) of the R32, and miss the character of that engine - even the M135i doesn't come close

I had a 335i and loved the engine. So much torque, sounds great (especially with the M Performance exhaust on the M135i - my mate has one), and doesn't suffer a great deal from turbo lag (though it is evident). I think a remap would make the M135i/335i a different animal. Personally I'd rather the M135i

I loved MK3 vr6's. I had 3 of them. Worst mistake selling my mulberry highline s/c. Saw one at Stonor park VW show at the weekend (resprayed with stunning Porsche amethyst purple). I understand the power to wieght and 4wd as currently own a mint S3 8p but I still miss the character of the 12v narrow angle 6.

Yeah; but unlike with the original Golf GTi (more so with the Mk2 version) turning up to a nice place now in an R doesn’t leave people thinking are they stealth wealthy (for that you need the plug in GTE). But with the Maserati, well that’s just a nice place to be 😁👍👍👍👍👍
