Layoffs (in my experience) change the whole company’s culture and its workers mindsets. I worked in a company that had this weird atmosphere after the layoffs it had during covid. Hope your work environment doesn’t get altered in the same way.

I definitely feel that. I can feel the culture shifting but it's not bad at this point and I hope things will get better as the overall economy gets better, for everyone.

You'd have to ask the people who are responsible for doing the layoffs to get a real answer but I'm pretty sure it's not random.
