I’d be pulling this vid down before people who build engines tear it apart in the comments You give engine builders a bad name with disinformation The gains on E85 lol Nah boys lol All vehicles in this vid ARE NOT making the claimed rwhp with chosen cam profiles Your big cam 500rwhp with heads lol No hope in hell For 1 That profile will have next to no p/v clearance Then you say the heads are skimmer to bring up comp lol There’s no p/v to start with lol I commented on your reply to old mate regarding underdrive balancers Please explain why people should not use them And let’s talk about dyno manipulation Why are the cars strapped down differently between the before and after dyno runs We both know how that changes results Just like playing with the correction factor That tuner needs to stay off camera and not speak And the bullshit with xforce headers not fitting correctly Why not tell your audience the truth Std leads will not fit 1 7/8” headers of any brand So many comments in this video that are just bullshit I KNOW what it takes to make 500+rwhp n/a LS That’s ls3 std bore/stroke and std compression No cutting pistons No skimming heads to bump compression The RIGHT cam profile And the right cnc heads

That cam has no p/v? Are you thick? Do you think we havent checked this with multiple cam profiles with different head deck thicknesses? Go watch some other videos fly cutting for slightly bigger cams. This cam profile has 0 ptv issues with any amount any sane person would want to take off heads. Gains on E are minimal as these combos arent knock limited on ULP. Thats just basic fluid mechanics. All vehicles are making claimed numbers, all dynoed in shootout with correction factors set, and all strapped exactly the same between before and after runs, not sure what youre smoking.. I would love to see you “pick this apart” while actually backing up anything you have to say. No comments on this vid are “bs” and we can back up everything we talk about. This is the only car we have ever had issues with leads fitting, and its because of the header flange, nothing to do with 1-7/8 headers.. You certainly are a silly salmon.
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
It fascinates me how people like you can come to the comments of a video like this and proclaim you know what the ptv is of the combo, to the people who are actually doing the work, in the same comment claiming WE give engine builders a bad name with “disinformation” 🤣. I could tell you exactly what ptv this cam will give at any head deck thickness, from 20 btdc to 20 atdc. Same with the 1288 and 1289 grinds. Im sure you “KNOW” what it takes to make 500whp n/a sbe LS, you just watched a whole video on how to do it… You sure like making yourself look like an ass.

goes to show how cam selection is a bit of an art, not just a case of "bigger is better". Would be interested to know the logic behind what makes you pick a cam for a cathedral port vs a rectangle. The extent of my knowledge is basically 'rectangle is better' so would be cool to see a video on what the differences are and whats good for each.
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
Its mostly just matching the valve events to the much better port flow on the intake of the rectangles. I can probably do a little vid on it sometime soon! But thats why we generally go for a much bigger split on rectangles and almost even split on cathedrals.

Do you gain much with a 20% under drive pulley on the 6L
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
It’s negligible. We don’t like underdrive balancer setups and steer clear of them at all costs
@jasonsalmon5550 Жыл бұрын
Powerbond underdrive pulley gain is 3-5hp gain at the crank What is very noticeable is how quick the rpm increases due to parasitic loss decrease Please explain why “steer clear at all costs”
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
@@jasonsalmon5550 Dampening harmonics is important, underdrive balancers simply don’t work as well, particularly once youre loading up with a bigger valvetrain etc. Every single LS I have ever seen snap a timing chain has had an underdrive balancer on it. Each to their own. But we steer well clear of them.

Hey can I ask have you guys spoke to X Force about the issue with the leads? Surely they should sort that out? Big PITA
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
We haven’t no, though I’m sure they would be happy to take our feedback. This being said we have previously used this exact headers set on a VE and not had the same issue, perhaps just a batch issue with these flanges or something. Fitment issues with mass produced aftermarket exhaust are pretty common, it’s a pain but it’s not a huge deal at the end of the day

@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
Very normal to lose peak power due to extra slip of the bigger converter. As Alex states the results will show in the numbers at the track
@RhysK94 Жыл бұрын
Its the same as diff gears. Your HP readout goes lower but torque readout goes higher. Actual hp doesn't get affected. The "butt dyno" and real world will prove a massive increase in performance with a correctly suited bigger stall or diff gear ratio to suit. Dyno is a tuning tool, not a be all and all.
@BoostGumps Жыл бұрын
@@RhysK94 yep Diff gears is a funny one because theoretically the difference in readout should be minimal, but it actually does make quite a big difference. All these cars read on the very happy side due to them still being std gearing. If we put 3.7’s in them all power readings would drop significantly

so for std port heads with the 1287 with supporting mods in an auto with diff gears and big wheels 430-440whp would be about right. Also depends on the dyno though
