He's one of the primary reasons the Panthers were screwed the next season. Couple that with the fact he was one quoted as saying, after has terrible year with the Cardinals, "I'm done chasing paychecks." He followed that by chasing a paycheck to the Saints.

The route running Cotchery contributed that year was invaluable, and then the next season Panthers go back one of the leagues worst route runner...that was a big change from the year before, having both Greg Olsen, Cotchery running pretty routes and Ginn going deep in 2015. That TD route against the Saint was top level stuff.

The Panthers did not do well in 2014 partially because they didn't have Ted Ginn. When Ginn returned for the 2015 season, they went 15-1. The reason Ginn had such an impact on the Panthers is that when he can catch a deep ball, that makes defensive backs have to back up. Therefore, that allows Cam Newton to possibly have less guys in the box. Carolina does well when they have a deep threat. We'll see if DJ Moore can do something like Ginn.

@@CS-wn2sz A lot of that has to do with understanding how to run your routes in a way that allows you to break open. Ted Ginn wasn't the player he was for us his whole career. The success he had here and the way he did it do you think we would had the opportunity to get if he had. A completely healthy Samuel definitely can fill that role better than what Ginn did. He's just as if not more athletic has way better hands, and an overall better receiver.

People need to realise that RUNNING QB years are like a mix between RB years and QB years.They go fast like dog years and after 30 you are flipping a coin every year.Plus they ran him like Eric Dickerson in Carolina and got hit hard too.Plus the injuries and the messed up shoulders to change his throwing and he wasn't accurate to begin with.All the running QBs faded early.In 2003 Mc Nair was Co MVP and by 2005 he was pushed put of the door by Titans cause he couldnt accurately throw 10 yards.Of you havent developed a pocket game as a Run QB-by the time your athleticism fades-what are you really going to rely om

Aces High I’m 95% sure that deep balls are recorded statistically as any pass that travels over 20 yards down the field. I think short passes are anything under 10 yards and intermediate passes are 10-20 yards.

The one positive they said when Cam came out of college was his deep ball accuracy. How many QBs throw 50 yard darts? The whole reason Cam did well in 2015 was because he could throw the deep ball to Ginn. This opened up the ability for him to run the ball as a QB. 2016 was not a good season because they didn't have Ginn.
