Camaro CERAKOTE Paint SPREE (Headers, Engine Components) PLUS Mini-VLOG!
How to use Cerakote's air cure line of high temp coating (glacier black and glacier silver) at home! Since I'm waiting on a few more parts to ship to me before I am able to fully assemble the Camaro's interior, I decided to repair and Cerakote my headers and a few external engine components =)

I think the greatest day ever for that Camaro was the day you bought it. Hopefully we will see that engine going back into the car soon. Keep up the good work. The reward will be great at the end

Smart!! On my 240z restoration I cerakoted every nut and bolt on that thing, all suspension parts, intake, exhaust, valve covers, carburetors…

Ryan. That Hurst shifter is an aftermarket Hurst replacement. Aftermarket Hurst shifters use bolts to hold chrome shifter handle to the shifter mechanism and the handle is square. Original GM Hurst shifters used rubber and metal locking shims to hold the shifter handle in place and the orignal handles were round. also original GM shifter mechanisms don't have the positive stop bolts in the sides of the mechanism. the shifting linkages are original GM. GM used a rubber bushing instead of nylon or brass bushings. this keeps the shifter from vibrating or rattling. original rubber bushing are available from inline tube, part number INL12761. the nylon and brass ones last longer if you live in a really cold or hot environment. the rubber ones dry our and crack after a few years. but they are significantly quieter that the nylon or brass. the brass ones are really noisy and will drive you nuts in a street driver car if you drive it all the time, nylon is compromise between the rubber and brass as far a noise goes. I run the Rubber ones in my 71 Camaro SS 396 4 speed. Slop in the shifter is usually caused by worn sector plates, worn sector button, and spring plates in the shifter assembly. incomplete gear engagement usually caused by worn bushings or misadjusted positive stop bolts. Holley Performance Group now owns Hurst and they offer a service kit for the shifter. part # 3327303. it has new sector plates, shims, selector buttons, springs and lube. it also included the bottom debris shield which is usually missing. it will make you shifter like new. someone probably swapped out the GM mechanism for the aftermarket Hurst because the original was worn out, and replacement parts/ service kits were not available until recently. Hurst used to have a rebuild service, but it was stupidly expensive. After Holley bought Hurst, they start offering the service kit. As for the shifter linkage adjustment. there should be just enough free play for the linkage so swivel around the rod, but not move front to back on the rod. I like to use a .005 feeler gauge between the nut and the slider. seems to work well for me. hope this helps. Shad. I love the Cerakote on those headers. looks really nice. I am going to look into using that for my cast iron exhaust manifolds if they have it in a cast iron color.

These videos are inspiring. When I was younger I had a 1979 chevelle so, wish I still had it to do something like this. Well done.

You are getting incredible results mate. Every video you release is one step closer to the car being finished. I look forward to each one and I have even got the other half watching and she wants to know how you will remember where all the nuts and bolts go. Again keep up the good work and greetings from the UK.

Awesome job so far man, like the attention to detail in all your videos. Just a little recommendation when recording voiceovers, try turning down input gain and check your microphone, just to take away the distortion during playback. Wish you continued success on the build and look forward to future videos!
