You could have easily cut most of the prying of the airbag but you didn't which is great because it's important for us to know the common issues when attempting such a modification. I also worked as an auto tech for a little while. The pink and black clip pose no worry because they are just related to steering wheel controls. All airbag plugs are colored yellow across the board for vehicles so the ones on the back are the most dangerous.

Sure wish you had mentioned something about not pulling the clock spring. My cars at the dealer now having the clock spring replaced and angle position sensor recalibrated after following this video. Whatever you do, ensure the clock spring cover doesn’t come off with your steering wheel. Sometimes it sticks to the back and if it comes off you’re pretty much guaranteed a trip to the dealer and a bill for $300-$500.

So far the purple Clíp on mine has a red wire running on the left of it and a pink colored wire running on the right side of it. But my PINK CLIP got fully melted so I don’t know which wire goes on the left and which on the right. I have a blue one and a dark purple wire just hanging loose

Thanks for the video. I've never removed air bag. Wife wants a leather wrapped steering wheel on her 15 camaro. Had the thought of getting a factory one. Hers just has the rubber type stuff. We are eventually going to add leather seats and upgrade to stereo. Thinking of doing it all myself. If I save enough on that I can use the rest of the money we would have spent on getting someone to do the install to get a leather seat kit for my truck. Also, I noticed you said that you'd make sure the mark lined up when you reinstalled. I believe the mark is for reference to see if the bolt moves or not. If its comes loose you will know because the marks are misaligned. So you know to re-torque it. Hit to the correct spec and remark. Its a quick way to tell is something is coming loose or has been tampered with. Even with the correct torque spec it may not align.

Just removed my air bag... after an hour I found that what finally worked was sitting in the drivers seat and popping out the right right with a pocket screwdriver flat side facing me, then while holding that side to make sure it doesn’t pop back in, pop the left side with pocket screwdriver flat side facing up

I believe the airbag removal goes easier with a second person. Have 1st person inserting two screwdrivers in both holes at the same time, while 2nd pulls up on airbag unit.

So I installed the carbon fiber alcantara wheel from wild hammer motorsports. It's dead straight in a flat parking lot but on the road it seems like it's off to the left by 1/8". Do you think that's just me fighting the uneven road or the wheels slightly off?

I have a 2020 Camaro 2 SS and on my steering wheel the layout on the left buttons is a little different. To the left of the heated steering wheel button is the forward collision alert adjustment button. On the new steering wheel I see the button to the left of the heated steering wheel just what looks like a round light, does the new steering wheel support the forward collision alert?

Hey Matt, Quick question for you, I swapped out my 2018 ZL1 steering wheel with the carbon fiber wheel from WindhammerMotorsports.com steering wheel and now my horn will not work? Any suggestions on what to check? I've checked the fuse and wondered if the horn wires are the two on upper left side area? I assume I will be pulling the wheel off again and verify everything or at least the air bag? I also posted the question on the Camaro6.com web site. Keep up all the videos as they are really helpful and entertaining! Will you be going to Sturgis and/or CamaroFest?

I've looked at all the above. Can't find the stainless headers with hi-po cats yet. Car backs are kind of a waste of money with dual mode exhaust, at track mode they flow very well, not to mention those nights when stealth mode is needed.. Lowering kinda makes me wonder if the mag ride will be affected.. I want to spend money on H.P.and something to set it apart...I'll look closer at the lowering...as you come across any ZL1 mods, please pass on. CAI and headers primarily. I'm having my tune done at JR motorsports in Phoenix do my tuning. I do the mechanical

Only thing I don't love about it is the "Fifty" logo, at least for my car which is a '16. I wonder if the SS could go back on. best way to remove this type of airbag is to turn the steering wheel 180 degrees, and use 2 ,allen or hex, tools and apply pressure at the same time. This is what the $500 shop manual states and what I did on my 2017 chevy volt.

you were reclipping it back in when you pulled one side and didnt hold it open/ keep something in there so it doesnt re-attach. I have done that a few times pretty funny but annoying so if you unclip one side of airbag leave something in there while you put your allen key on the other side.

You seem to know a lot & I'm having a hard time getting this question answered. If you order the $500 carbon fiber dash, it only shows one piece in front of the passenger & nothing else. I would think there would be at least one other small piece on the driver side. Do you know anything about this?
