In my opinion, Unreal 1998 has got the most atmospheric soundtrack i have ever heard in a video game, I remember playing the game in 1998 and getting blown away by the graphics, incredibly open levels and environment (unlike Half Life which was released in the same year), and my god, the optimalization for the year was seriously Unreal, because just with a Software Rendering and slow PC even for it's time, the game was smooth af. Unreal 1998 and Unreal Tournament are the best games I have ever played. Unreal 1998 has got the best story from all late 90s FPS games, and Unreal Tournament 99 got the best gameplay. It's so sad that nowaday kids can't understand how incredible these two games was.

I remember the N64 Ridge Racer. Never have I ever sweated in my life trying to get first place with a low-tier car. Mind you I grew up on the old games during the early 2000s. I got to experience games that kids where playing in the 80s-90s. The Xbox 360 was out but all i can afford was the Original Xbox with emulators. I'm glad I grew up on, it gave me an understanding. Hell even the Sega genesis was entertaining. Back then all the kids had 360's while a select handful of us had the originals with emulators. While you guys where playing COD4 Modern warfare. I was playing bomber man hero, and Chrono Trigger. Mind you where N64 and Super Nintendo games. oh and don't forget the emulated Arcade games. I always like to play elevator action because the second one "Elevator Action Returns" has a two player arcade one that was always challenging for me and my brother. But in the end it was fun!

Nowadays it's all just mainstream bullshit. But there are exceptions, some big AAA games have good soundtracks but that's very rare. I'm talking about racing games,NFS soundtracks were fucking great, now it's just bad. DnB,Jungle,Metal these genres fit perfectly with a fast paced racing arcade game. It's too bad they just go for mainstream pop and "rap".

Man hearing bomberman and R4 ost made me realize how much i love that style, so chill and relaxed and yet active at same time. I recall how i loved to play random races in R4 and 90% of times i would play "quiet curves". Makes sense i would get so hype by Persona 3 music and then move into Nujabes, and chill hop music eventually. This list is awesome.
